Tournament Preview

The European Tour moves to China for the next two tournaments. This week, The Shenzhen International returns for the third time. The tournament began in 2015 and has been played at Genzon GC each year. Course history is limited, but the Volvo China Open was played at Genzon in 2014, so we will consider that as well.

Genzon is a long, difficult course with wide fairways and hazards waiting for a lapse in concentration. One of China's elite courses, Genzon was constructed between thick forests and large lakes. Due to course length and impending trouble around the greens, driving distance and greens in regulation are particularly important this week.

2015 - Kiradech Aphibarnrat

DRAFTKINGS PICKS

Tommy Fleetwood - $11,500 (12/1)

Fleetwood has played well at Genzon GC, finishing T19 last year and third in 2015. He also finished second on this course in 2014 at the Volvo China Open. Tommy is first in GIR and is driving the ball more than 303 yards this season. He appears to be not only a safe play at the top, but a contender to win.

Peter Uihlein - $10,500 (22/1)

Uihlein has not missed a cut since December and has four top-10s this season. He is 16th in driving distance and is hitting almost 69 percent GIR. He missed the cut last year, but was T4 in 2015.

Alexander Levy - $9,500 (28/1)

Levy has played great at Genzon GC. He won the Volvo Open in 2014, was T4 last year and T25 in 2015. He has had a decent start to the year, his best finish being fourth at Maybank. He is more than 69 percent in GIR, and even though he is 142nd in driving distance, he has proven he can win here.

Dylan Frittelli - $7,000 (66/1)

Dylan is coming in with good recent form. He was T19 last week in Morocco, T29 at Hero, T12 at Tshwane and T16 at Joburg. He is 20th in driving distance, averaging more than 309 yards and is 104th in GIR. He doesn't have any course history but is a good value given price to odds.

Gregory Havret - $7,000 (80/1)

Havret seems to be trending in the right direction. He was T19 last week at Trophee Hassan II, T34 at Hero and T15 at Tshwane. He also came in 11th at Maybank, so off to a good start of the year. He is driving the ball more than 293 yards, but makes up in accuracy what is lacking in length. His GIR is almost 70 percent. Gregory has had some success at Genzon, making the cut all three times he played here, including the Volvo Open in 2014. His best finish was T15 in 2015.

Haydn Porteous $7,000 (100/1)

Haydn has been steady for a couple months. He was T13 last week in Morocco and had a T23 and a T26 in February. He played the weekend last year, finishing T58. Porteous is ninth on tour in driving distance and is hitting more than 68 percent GIR. I expect him to be low owned.
