Rest-of-Season Projections
2024 Fantasy Outlook
Gipson played sparingly through Week 8 of his rookie season. In the second half of the season, his role increased significantly. Although Gipson had just one game with more than 33 yards, it’s difficult to put the blame on him. The Jets could not have had a worse situation at quarterback in 2023. As a result, the entire passing game was inept. After Mike Williams signed with the Jets in free agency, Gipson would need to win the No. 3 role to have potential weekly fantasy value. However, if he doesn’t win the third-receiver job, Gipson may not see significant targets. Read Past Outlooks

Catches only one of four targets
Gipson caught one of four targets for six yards while adding two kickoff returns for 50 yards and five punt returns for 31 yards in Sunday's 10-9 loss to the Broncos.
ANALYSIS
Gipson got plenty of special-teams opportunities as offense was hard to come by in rainy conditions at MetLife Stadium, but he had a forgettable afternoon on offense. The second-year pro set a season high in targets, but he didn't exactly earn Aaron Rodgers' trust, registering a drop and then failing to get his head around on a pivotal third-down pass late in the game.

Pushing for WR3 role
Gipson had a strong minicamp and is making a case to open the season as the Jets' slot receiver over 2024 third-round draft pick Malachi Corley, per Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic.
ANALYSIS
Gipson made the Jets as an undrafted free agent in 2023 primarily due to his contributions as a return man on special teams, but his role on offense grew as the season progressed, and he earned consistent playing time in the slot. Corley has been pegged as the favorite to win the slot receiver job due to his superior college production, but Gipson has excelled throughout the offseason program and appears to have taken a step forward with a year of NFL experience under his belt. Even with the team's increased depth around him, Gipson is well positioned to exceed his rookie totals of 21 catches for 229 yards on 38 targets.
