2024 Fantasy Outlook
Quitoriano opened 2023 as the Texans' second tight end, consistently out-snapping Brevin Jordan through the first seven weeks before a season-ending groin injury. He eventually required surgery but is expected to participate in summer activities. With just 17 career targets in 16 NFL games, Quitoriano is not a serious receiving threat. He'd probably be the team's second tight end if Houston had stood pat; however, the Texans traded up in the fourth round to select Ohio State tight end Cade Stover. If "Ohio State" rings a bell, it's because starting quarterback C.J. Stroud went there and is familiar with Stover. The addition of Stroud's college buddy should force Quitoriano down the depth chart and may cost Jordan his job. Read Past Outlooks
Ruled out for Saturday
The Texans announced Friday that Quitoriano (calf) has been downgraded to out for Saturday's divisional-round road game against the Chiefs.
ANALYSIS
Quitoriano was initially labeled as questionable for the AFC divisional round, but he won't be activated from IR in time to suit up versus Kansas City. His 21-day practice window is nearing its conclusion, so even if Houston emerges victorious over Kansas City, it's unclear whether Quitoriano will have a chance to return down the stretch during the playoffs.

Quitoriano missed the first half of his rookie season due to swelling in his knee but eventually became part of the rotation. The fifth-round draft pick caught seven of 14 targets for 113 yards and two touchdowns. Despite an impressive 16.1 yards per catch, Quitoriano is not considered a high-volume receiving threat. His value is that of an inline blocker, where he's perceived as an extra tackle. That will get him on the field and possibly some red-zone targets -- he had five during his rookie season. The Texans have made moves to shore up the offensive line and look poised to establish a run identity, which would benefit Quitoriano.
