2025 Fantasy Outlook
Carter's first full season in Arizona didn't amount to much. Working behind James Conner, Trey Benson and Emari Demercado, Carter spent most of the campaign on the practice squad, eventually seeing action in the final three games on the Cardinals' schedule as injuries piled up in the backfield. He produced some inefficient volume on the ground but caught multiple passes in all three contests, highlighting his primary skill set. Arizona brings back the same cast of RBs in 2025, and Carter could once again be the odd man out most weeks when everyone is healthy. Read Past Outlooks

Gets 10 touches in Week 13
Carter recorded five carries for 17 yards and gathered in five of six targets for 47 yards during Sunday's 20-17 loss at Tampa Bay.
ANALYSIS
Aside from a Week 9 win in Dallas, when he was active but didn't play, Carter has handled various workloads in eight games since his season debut Week 4. The personnel available to the Cardinals backfield due to a litany of injuries has resulted in as few as one touch (Week 4) to as many as 23 touches (Week 5), but he's settled into roughly seven touches per game (6.9, to be exact) in his last six appearances. On Sunday, Carter took a back seat to Bam Knight (14 touches for 98 total yards and one TD), with Trey Benson (knee) still on injured reserve and Emari Demercado inactive due to a high-ankle sprain. If Benson and/or Demercado are able to return next Sunday against the Rams, the aforementioned workload for Carter may dry up to almost nothing, but he should remain involved as long as that duo is sidelined.

Claimed off waivers from the Jets last season, Carter made a surprising impact behind James Conner, scoring his first career receiving touchdown and averaging an eye-popping 6.8 yards per carry. Much of that production came in Week 17 against a reeling Eagles defense, however, and his ability to repeat those numbers on bigger volume is suspect given his limited athletic profile. Carter's spot on the depth chart is also in jeopardy after the Cardinals drafted Trey Benson in the third round. Carter will compete with Emari Demercado for snaps behind the team's current and future lead backs.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Could be Cardinals' RB1 for Week 13
Carter would be poised to lead the Cardinals' backfield against the Buccaneers on Sunday if Bam Knight is unable to play due to a knee injury.
ANALYSIS
Knight is listed as questionable for Sunday's game after logging a week of limited practices, and his status may not be officially known until the Cardinals announce their list of inactive players approximately 90 minutes prior to the 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff. Carter has worked in a rotational role in the backfield over the Cardinals' last three games, but he did serve as the lead back in Week 5 against the Titans, when he turned 18 carries into 51 yards and a touchdown while catching all five of his targets for 22 yards. With Emari Demercado already ruled out due to an ankle injury, Carter would be poised to take over as the RB1 if Knight cannot play, with Jermar Jefferson providing depth in the backfield.
