Marvin Harrison

Marvin Harrison

22-Year-Old Wide ReceiverWR
Arizona Cardinals
2025 Fantasy Outlook
Harrison's rookie season can only be called a disappointment, even though his eight touchdowns tied for 12th most among WRs. The No. 4 overall pick had 130 yards and two TDs in his second NFL game, followed by TDs each of the next two weeks, but there was more frustration than success from that point forward. His next 11 games yielded just three scores and an average of 43.9 yards, with a 50.0 percent catch rate and 6.7 YPT. Harrison at least finished strong, catching 11 of 16 targets for 159 yards and a TD over the final two weeks. He'll turn 23 in August, and while he didn't go through pre-draft drills, his production at Ohio State was resounding -- back-to-back seasons with 1,200-plus yards and 14 TDs. He's tall (6-4), but not especially strong or heavy (209 pounds), and fast, but not overwhelmingly so. Harrison also isn't much of a threat after the catch, having averaged just 2.6 YAC last year. He'll likely need to dominate on the perimeter with smooth route-running and contested catches in order to live up to the expectations for a top-five pick. That's certainly still possible, and he won't face much target competition from the other WRs in Arizona, but it was TE Trey McBride who became the most trusted pass catcher for QB Kyler Murray and OC Drew Petzing last year. Cardinals anticipating Year 2 leap
WRArizona Cardinals
June 23, 2025
Arizona's coaching staff expects Harrison to take a substantial step forward in 2025 after his uneven rookie season, Doug Haller of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Harrison has reportedly bulked up noticeably this offseason, a development that will hopefully help the No. 4 overall pick of the 2024 Draft improve in contested-catch situations in Year 2. Despite suiting up for all 17 regular-season games as a rookie and acting as the Cardinals' top wide receiver, Harrison managed just a 62-885-8 line on 116 targets, finishing as a distant second in pass-catching production compared to TE Trey McBride. QB Kyler Murray said at mandatory minicamp that he's observed improved confidence from Harrison, who will turn 23 in August. That Arizona didn't notably add to the pass-catching corps in either free agency or the 2025 Draft can only be interpreted as a vote of confidence that Harrison will indeed follow through on a notable leap this year, a development that will require him to translate his added strength and size into an ability to more consistently beat opposing cornerbacks downfield, and to do so without noticeably sacrificing speed. He'll have every opportunity to emerge as a true top wideout in 2025, at least, as Michael Wilson, Greg Dortch and Zay Jones don't represent genuine competition to the target shares of either Harrison or McBride.

2024 Fantasy Outlook
Apart from top-five-drafted quarterbacks, it's hard to think of a player that's entered the NFL in recent years surrounded by such massive expectations (and pressure). Playing the same position as your Hall of Fame father can do that, especially when you're 6-foot-4, a highly regarded recruit, choose Ohio State and then go on to produce back-to-back 1,200-yard seasons. Those are all good things in terms of the future projection, of course, and even the few negatives in Harrison's profile are easily enough explained away. He didn't play much as a 19-year-old freshman at OSU, but the three guys ahead of him -- Chris Olave, Garrett Wilson, Jaxon Smith-Njigba -- all ended up being first-round picks. And while Harrison opted out of pre-draft workouts, his ability to make that decision points to just how dominant his tape was (it helps that there's now tracking data to erase any concerns about speed). The fourth overall pick should instantly become Arizona's No. 1 wide receiver, teaming up with TE Trey McBride and RB James Conner to give Kyler Murray a solid group of weapons despite the lack of WR talent behind Harrison. It's about the fantasy situation you can hope for as a top-five pick with minimal chance of going to a team that has an elite QB.

Bulking up for Year 2
WRArizona Cardinals
May 20, 2025
Harrison has added muscle this offseason but is still settling on finding a comfortable playing weight, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Harrison had a strong rookie season in 2024, posting 62 receptions for 885 yards and eight touchdowns, though that fell below exceedingly high expectations. He's taken steps to improve this offseason, but he explained the weight gain occurred naturally due to him eating more. Harrison also noted that he feels good and like himself on the field, so the added weight could help him further adjust to the physicality of the NFL.
