NFL Picks: Backing the Jaguars, Broncos and Jets

NFL Picks: Backing the Jaguars, Broncos and Jets

This article is part of our NFL Picks series.

Thank God for Erickson who also went 4-11. Otherwise, I would have lost significant ground to everyone - as Stopa and DDD went 10-5, and Pianow went 9-6. Stopa's off to a ridiculous 39-22 start, while Pianow is three games back.

Three consensus picks this week, the Jaguars, Broncos and Jets.

EricksonThis is two years in a row where I'm seemingly on the wrong side every week with my own team (the Bengals) - suffice to say I won't ever be taking a side on them as a best bet.
Pianowski know you can say this about many teams, but the Eagles are probably three plays away from being 0-4. They get Pittsburgh at the wrong time - rested and desperate.
Liss I really like the Steelers, Dolphins and 49ers, but the Redskins are my best bet because I picked them in East Coast Offense, and I don't want to have two sets of best bets to navigate.
StopaAt this time last week, the Bills were said to have the best offensive line in the NFL, and I was looking forward to seeing them match up with the 49ers front seven. But Buffalo lost two starting linemen against the Pats (which most people don't know, so it's probably not factored into the line), and neither C.J. Spiller nor Fred Jackson is 100 percent, so when Ryan Fitzpatrick has to throw, it won't be pretty. Plus, the Bills defense got dominated against the two decent teams they've played this year. Expect San Fran to have its way... I need the Packers to start blowing people out before I lay 7 on the road... I have to go ugly with the Jaguars and Jets... The Vikings should be giving 7 against a bad Titans team at home... My favorite bet of the year is over 46.5 points in KC. Every Chiefs game has been played in the 50s, the Ravens defense is overrated, and Bowe and Charles will put up points, even if it's garbage time.
Del Don As a 49ers fan, I'm glad I sufficiently jinxed the Jets by making them my best bet last week, but I'm certainly not happy with my performance there to start the year. I also had a tough time coming up with one for Week 5, ultimately banking on the home team in a divisional matchup in a short week. As for the full slate, I continued my theme this year by going dog heavy, backing 12 of them. Took the Saints purely as a contrarian pick. That line seems a bit nuts.
