Los Angeles Rams at Seattle Seahawks
Betting Odds, Picks, and Predictions for NFC Championship
Friends, you'll have to forgive me if this week's column doesn't have the same pizzazz as in previous weeks. With the magic of OUR beloved Chicago Bears finally running out, I'm a little bummed to be doing this without them. However, their spirit lives on as they not only went out with another winning cover for me, I've been asked to continue my own magical season for at least one more week.
Similar to the Bears, my magic carpet ride has resulted in a sparkling 13-6 record (69 percent) for 7.4 units on the year. I'm going to guess not many in the industry have come near that percentage this season, and all of you, my fine compadres, get that content exclusively, right here, at RotoWire.
This week, I have the pleasure of tackling the NFC Championship in an all-NFC West showdown between the Rams and Seahawks in Seattle. These teams split in the regular season, with each team winning on their home field: the Rams by the score of 21-19 on November 16, and the Seahawks in a 38-37 circus of a game on December 18. This should be a doozy of a late game on Sunday...I'm excited to jump in!

Rams vs. Seahawks Betting Odds
- Spread: Rams +2.5 (-109 BetRivers), Seahawks -2.5 (-104 FanDuel)
- Moneyline: Rams -134 (FanDuel), Seahawks +120 (BetMGM, DraftKings)
- Total: Over 46.5 (-110 DraftKings, Fanatics, FanDuel), Under 46.5 (-108 Caesars)
I know what everyone is thinking...the forecast. However, unlike most of the country, the weather in Seattle is supposed to be (checks notes and adjusts glasses) nice! Leave it to Seattle to buck the trend from the rest of the country.
With weather a non-factor, and so few games, we aren't going to see much movement. The books are dialed in, and value is hard to come by. Case in point, the spread opened at Seattle -1.5, moved to 2.5 almost immediately, and has stayed there ever since. The total has wobbled a little bit from its opening at 47.5. The over was pounded early to move it to 48.5 by last Sunday evening, but it has slowly come down over the course of the week to settle on where it sits at time of publishing.
My interpretation of that is sharp money was on the over early on and the public has brought it back down due to the season-ending injury to Seahawks RB Zach Charbonnet, and the general thought is that these teams both have excellent defenses. I would not be surprised if sharps jump on it once again closer to game time, and this closes back in the 47-47.5 range.

Rams vs. Seahawks Betting Picks
I would like OUR Chicago Bears to cover their ears for a second: I love them, but I've thought the Rams were the best team in football most of the year. Shhhhh! Don't tell anyone! I am definitely not surprised to see them here nor am I surprised to see Seattle, particularly given their playoff path.
In a nice turn of fortune, the Rams are actually the healthy team here, while Seattle loses a pretty dynamic playmaker in Charbonnet. I'm not overreacting to that news, and he will be missed. The biggest question for me: Will this game be more like the 40-point game in Los Angeles? Or, will it be more like the 75-point extravaganza in Seattle? With weather not a factor, I tend to lean to the latter.
Rams vs. Seahawks Best Bets
- Over 46.5 (-110 BetMGM, DraftKings, FanDuel and Fanatics Sportsbook)
Rams vs. Seahawks Prediction
Crazy things can happen in rivalry games. Even crazier things can happen in playoff rivalry games (see: Bears v Packers). So, I'm staying away from picking a side, although I do like the value on the Rams ML, as I think they are the better team with the best QB remaining in the playoffs. However, I'm going to take advantage of the only true value I see on the board, and that's on the over. As I mentioned above, I'm going to guess the total closes closer to 47.5 so I'm going to grab the slight value right now at 46.5. Plus, both these teams are LOADED with offensive talent, even without Charbonnet in the fold.
Rams 31, Seahawks 27
