Quarterback
Colin Kaepernick, SF at ATL ($7,500) – It's always a good idea to target a team that's the underdog in a game that should be a blowout. That provides the opportunity for garbage time production and Kaepernick gets an excellent matchup against the Falcons. Atlanta has slipped to No.2 as far as giving up the fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks after they were surpassed by the Browns this week. Kaepernick also has a greater chance of producing above average fantasy numbers due to his scrambling ability.
Running Back
Kenneth Farrow, SD vs OAK ($6,000) – Farrow should a popular pick this week if anyone is going to pivot off David Johnson or Le'Veon Bell. He's in line to handle the bulk of the workload for the Chargers in a game with an over/under of 51. Farrow had 21 touches in relief of Melvin Gordon last week, including six catches, indicating he can handle a three-down workload. The Raiders are giving up the eighth most fantasy points to opposing running backs, making this a solid matchup for Farrow.
Tevin Coleman, ATL vs SF ($6,500) – There are two "backups" worth considering their matchups this week, one being Coleman and the other Mike Gillislee, as both the Browns and 49ers have bad defenses. Coleman has a little more upside than Gillislee considering he's almost guaranteed double-digit touches and does a lot of damage as a receiver. Wide Receiver
J.J. Nelson, ARI vs NO ($5,000) – Since being anointed the No.2 receiver for the Cardinals, Nelson went on a three-game skid of a lack of fantasy production. He's found his way back to relevance with three touchdowns over the last two weeks, and the release of Michael Floyd further helps his situation. Like most of the Saints' games, this is expected to be a high-scoring affair on both sides of the ball, so Nelson should get a boost in targets — especially in the red zone where Floyd had 13 this season.
Brandin Cooks, NO at ARI ($6,300) – This price seems too low for Cooks, who has usually been north of $7,000 over the last two seasons. As mentioned, this game should feature plenty of scoring with a spread of less than three and the over/under at a lofty 50 points. Cooks has seven games of double-digit fantasy points and has a huge ceiling, as evidenced by games of 30.4 and 17.4 fantasy points earlier this season. Don't worry about him being shadowed by Patrick Peterson; it's more likely he'll follow Michael Thomas on the outside while Cooks plays from the slot.
Tight End
Charles Clay, BUF vs CLE ($4.500) – Overall, Clay has had a disappointing season dealing with nagging injuries and inconsistent quarterback play. He is coming off his best game of the season (52 receiving yards and a touchdown) and gets and excellent matchup this week against Cleveland. The Browns are giving up the second most fantasy points to opposing tight ends this season fueled by a league-worst 11 touchdowns passes. The forecast for this game is nothing to worry about and there's a narrow receiving tree in Buffalo for Tyrod Taylor to throw to.
Kicker
Nick Novak, HOU vs JAC ($4,700) – Novak has averaged the fifth most fantasy points among kickers this season but comes in at just $200 over the minimum this week. He'll be kicking indoors taking, away any weather concerns, and Houston should be able to move the ball at home. Novak also has at least seven fantasy points in every game this season except one, also, suggesting his floor is pretty high.
Defense
Kansas City Chiefs vs TEN ($4,500) – The Chiefs' defense is averaging the most fantasy points on FanDuel but for some reason are only the ninth-priced unit this week. They've had 10 or more fantasy points in eight of their last nine games and they now come with the return skills of speedster Tyreek Hill. Arrowhead is a tough place to play and they've had extra time to prepare for this matchup coming off the Thursday night game.
