India vs. Bangladesh, 2nd T20I: Bangladesh aim to seal series at Rajkot

Match Details:

Series/tournament name: India vs Bangladesh T20I series

Venue: Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Rajkot

Date: November 7, 2019

Time: 7:00 p.m. IST

Match Preview:

After pollution in Delhi, it is a cyclone threat in Rajkot that threatens the India Bangladesh T20I. In a rather unpredictable outcome, Bangladesh pulled off their first ever win in India in any format and their first T20I win over India at Delhi. It has seen the predictions for the series take a massive twist but India are still expected to come back roaring, weather permitting, at Rajkot.

Sans senior players, both teams appeared a tad fidgety in the first T20I. Now that combinations have been identified and battle lines drawn, we should see a more intriguing contest at Rajkot. It's up to India to avoid another loss and a T20I series loss against a Shakib-less Bangladesh.

Weather Report:

There is heavy rain expected in Gujarat in the upcoming days and the match could well be a proper washout.

Pitch Report:

The climate should encourage swing and seam movement. Otherwise, this appears one of those typical T20 wickets tailor-made for batting.

Probable Playing XI:

India: Rohit Sharma (c), Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant (wk), Krunal Pandya, Shivam Dube, Washington Sundar, Deepak Chahar, Shardul Thakur, Yuzvendra Chahal

Bangladesh: Soumya Sarkar, Mohammad Naim, Liton Das, Mushfiqur Rahim (wk), Mahmudullah (c), Afif Hossain, Mosaddek Hossain, Aminul IslamAl-Amin Hossain, Mustafizur

Top picks:

Wicket-keeper: Mushfiqur Rahim (9.5 credits)

Mushfiqur yet again showed what a gun player he is against India in particular at Delhi. The wicket-keeper batsman is a key player for Bangladesh in any format and with Shakib absent, he stepped up his game in the first T20I to guide Bangladesh to a maiden T20I win over India. Expect more from him this series.

Batsman: Shikhar Dhawan (10 credits)

Dhawan copped quite a lot of criticism for his slow knock in his home ground in Delhi. The left-hander's innings left India crippled in the first innings, especially at the death and if not for Sundar and Pandya, they would have struggled to set up a decent total. The southpaw will want to make amends though and is perfectly capable of it.

All-rounder: Krunal Pandya (8.5 credits)

A more than handy all-rounder in this format, Krunal can do the power hitting as well as bowl tidy overs. On a moisture-laden wicket his role would be to contain the scoring rate and in the past, Krunal has been quite successful in this. Add in his floating role with the bat and he becomes a key fantasy player.

Bowler: Aminul Islam (8 credits)

The leg-spinner played a big role in Bangladesh's win in Delhi and seems like one of those X-factor bowlers. He can be a wicket-taker and will be banked upon immediately after the powerplay overs by Mahmudullah.

Captaincy options: Shikhar Dhawan, Lokesh Rahul
