Rockets Fight Off Grizzlies At Home
The Houston Rockets defeated the visiting Memphis Grizzlies, 111-91, at Toyota Center on Wednesday evening.

The Grizzlies got out to a solid start and led, 28-21, after one quarter. The Rockets picked up the pace in the second and rallied to a brief lead, before the visitors reclaimed a one-point edge going into halftime. The hosts kept the pressure on in the third and pulled ahead for a six-point advantage heading into the final frame. The Rockets kept the momentum going in the fourth, where they outscored the Grizzlies by 14, to run away with the win and move to 7-1 at home on the season.

Jalen Green led the Rockets with 34 points, two rebounds, four assists and a steal, in 30 minutes. Jabari Smith followed up with 18 points, nine rebounds, two assists and a block, while Fred VanVleet totaled 16 points, seven rebounds, four assists and two steals. The Rockets shot 43.5 percent from the field, including 14-for-43 from long distance.

Meanwhile, Jaren Jackson and Desmond Bane totaled 23 points each to lead the way for the Grizzlies. Ziaire Williams followed up with 13 points and two rebounds, while John Konchar was scoreless. but hauled in 11 rebounds, in 29 minutes off the bench. The Grizzlies shot 32.9 percent from the field, including 7-for-32 from deep.

The Grizzlies (3-11) will look to bounce back as they play host to the Suns on Friday. The Rockets (7-6) play host to the Nuggets on Friday.
