NBA Pick'Em Today

Utah Jazz vs. Brooklyn Nets: Kyle Filipowski more than 16.5 points + rebounds, PrizePicks

Thursday's game against the Nets will be a favorable matchup for the Jazz, but since it's the first leg of a back-to-back set, it wouldn't be surprising if some of the veterans sit out for Utah. Jusuf Nurkic is a candidate to do so since he's dealing with a rib injury, and he's currently questionable to play. His likely absence would translate to more minutes for Filipowski, and the former Duke standout has delivered good numbers when given the chance. He posted 12 points and seven boards off the bench in Monday's win over the Rockets. Furthermore, Filipowski has recorded at least 17 points and boards combined in seven of his last nine appearances, each time coming off the bench.

Los Angeles Lakers vs. Toronto Raptors: Rui Hachimura less than 14.5 points, Underdog

Hachimura went scoreless in 23 minutes in Monday's 125-108 loss to the Suns. Even though Hachimura should bounce back in this game, the matchup is far from ideal, as the Raptors are among the best defenses in the NBA, and Hachimura will probably get matched up against either Brandon Ingram or Scottie Barnes. Hachimura's recent performances haven't set the world on fire, either. He's gone eight consecutive games without reaching 15 points, though on a more positive note, he's had at least 13 points six times in that span. Hachimura is averaging 13.4 points per game while shooting 51.9 percent from the field in his last 13 games dating back to the beginning of November.

Minnesota Timberwolves vs. New Orleans Pelicans: Jeremiah Fears more than 22 points + rebounds + assists, PrizePicks

Fears has scored at least 21 points in his last two outings, including the previous head-to-head meeting against the Timberwolves on Tuesday, and the rookie is establishing himself as a reliable option on offense for a struggling Pelicans team. The former Oklahoma standout has been up to the task and is averaging 15.7 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game. He has at least 22 P+R+A in four of his last five outings, with the lone exception being the loss to the Grizzlies on Nov. 26. With Fears attempting double-digit shots on a steady basis and seeing his offensive numbers are on the rise, he looks like a good bet to post at least 23 P+R+A for a fourth consecutive contest. In the previous three, Fears has averaged 19.3 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game.
