PITCHER
Jose Berrios, MIN vs. DET ($8,900): Berrios is a different pitcher at home. In Minnesota's ballpark, he has a 3.15 ERA, 0.97 WHIP, and has struck out 9.8 hitters per nine innings. Meanwhile, since the All-Star break, the Tigers rank 27th in runs scored.
GPP Fade: CC Sabathia, NYY at TB ($7,700): Sabathia has a 3.77 ERA, but in his last 12 starts his ERA is 4.91. On top of that, he has a 4.54 ERA on the road this season. The Rays have been one of the hottest teams in baseball for a few months, and on that front they rank 11th in runs scored since the All-Star break.
Cheap GPP Consideration: Marco Gonzales, SEA vs. TEX ($6,300): Gonzales has posted a 3.53 FIP in his first season starting regularly. He's also been better at home, which isn't surprising given the way Safeco Field has generally impacted offense. This recommendation is about the matchup, though. The Rangers have struggled mightily on the road, as they rank 27th in runs scored in away games.
CATCHER/FIRST BASE
Ryan O'Hearn, KC vs. CLE ($3,600: The left-handed O'Hearn has absolutely crushed righties this year. We're talking about a 1.216 OPS versus right handers this season. Josh Tomlin is a righty, which should be enough to get you excited about this matchup. If you need more, though Tomlin also has a 7.39 FIP.
SECOND BASE
Ozzie Albies, ATL at NYM ($3,400): Albies has been one of the reasons that the Braves are returning to the playoffs, as the 21-year-old has hit 24 homers and stolen 13 bases. He also happens to hit lefties better than righties, which actually comes into play in this game. Jason Vargas is a lefty, and Vargas has also allowed 1.91 homers per nine innings.
THIRD BASE
Johan Camargo, ATL at NYM ($3,000): Camargo is having a solid season as well, as he's slashed .272/.351/.455 and hit 18 homers. Plus, like his teammate Ozzie Albies, he's hit lefties better than righties in his career. The Mets have a few good starters, but Jason Vargas is not one of them, as his 6.25 ERA clearly indicates.
SHORTSTOP
Joey Wendle, TB vs. NYY ($3,000): You may not be aware, but Wendle has a .300 batting average this season. That's partially why he's averaged 9.1 fantasy points per game. The 28-year-old has also added 15 stolen bases. CC Sabathia has a 4.26 FIP, his fifth season in a row with a FIP over 4.00, and he's allowed over a home run per nine innings in that time as well.
OUTFIELD
Mitch Haniger, SEA vs. TEX ($3,600): Haniger has been quite hot recently, as he has a .960 OPS and seven homers over the last month. Those home runs have helped give him 26 on the season. It wouldn't be surprising if he stays hot in this game, as Rangers starter Ariel Jurado has a 7.96 ERA on the road.
Michael Conforto, NYM vs. ATL ($3,500): Conforto's another player who has been enjoying a scorching stretch of play, as he has a 1.094 OPS over his last 20 contests. This includes a good game Wednesday where he popped his 28th homer. Now he'll be squaring off with Julio Teheran, who has a 4.87 FIP this season.
Carlos Gonzalez, COL vs. PHI ($3,500): Gonzalez has been a hitter who has feasted on home cooking for the bulk of his career, and this year is no different. When he's at Coors Field, the 32-year-old is a completely different hitter. Since he's at home Thursday, all is well. Jake Arrieta has a 4.20 FIP, and also a .279 BAA versus lefties, two more factors in CarGo's favor.
