PITCHER
Rich Hill, LAD vs. SD ($9,800): When Hill is on his game, and his fingers are blister free, he can be a dominant pitcher. To that end, over his last 10 starts he has a 2.73 ERA and has struck out 10.0 batters per nine innings. On the season, he's struck out 9.62 batters, so that's a level of performance he can continue. The Padres are 26th in runs scored, and with a .298 OBP they are tied for last in that category.
GPP Fade: Andrew Heaney, LAA vs. HOU ($8,400): While Rich Hill has performed well recently, Heaney has gone in the opposite direction. Over his last 10 starts he has a 4.99 ERA. Squaring off with the Astros isn't likely to help. Houston is fourth in runs scored, and they are healthy again as well, having gotten Carlos Correa and Jose Altuve back.
Cheap GPP Consideration: Wade Miley, MIL vs. PIT ($6,900): Miley has inexplicably good numbers so far this season. In nine games he has a 2.18 ERA. Sure, he has a 4.17 FIP, but even that isn't terrible. The Pirates, for their part, are 19th in runs scored since the All-Star break. Miley may not stay hot, and lucky, but the point of a cheap consideration is to roll the dice a bit. If Miley keeps it up, he'll be a steal at this price.
CATCHER
Austin Romine, NYY at BAL ($3,800): With Gary Sanchez hurt, Romine has stepped in as New York's starting catcher. He's done an acceptable job in limited action, slashing .255/.303/.435 and hitting eight homers in 64 games. In this game he gets to take advantage of a matchup with Baltimore starter Alex Cobb, who has a 5.09 ERA.
FIRST BASE
Max Muncy, LAD vs. SD ($4,600): Muncy is enjoying a .948 OPS in his breakout season, and the lefty has even performed well against his fellow southpaws (.943 OPS). That's good, because Padres starter Clayton Richard is left handed. Richard also has a 5.11 ERA, but on the road that number jumps to 6.28.
SECOND BASE
Ozzie Albies, ATL at MIA ($$4,400): Albies hasn't been able to make contact at the same rate he did in his debut campaign in 2017, but he's still proven himself to be a good hitter, especially for a second baseman, at the tender age of 21. Through 122 games, he has 21 homers and 12 stolen bases. Albies has been in a cold patch, but a matchup with Dan Straily could be the antidote he needs. Straily has a 5.55 FIP and has allowed 1.65 homers per nine innings.
THIRD BASE
Matt Chapman, OAK at MIN ($4,400): Chapman is having a fine season (.866 OPS), but that's with playing his home games in Oakland's pitcher-friendly stadium. In away games he has a .390 OPS and a .578 slugging percentage. He will surely be more than happy to be in Minnesota on Friday, and going up against Jake Odorizzi. In a bit of good fortune for Chapman, Odorizzi actually struggles at home. The pitcher has a 4.94 ERA in such games.
SHORTSTOP
Ketel Marte, ARI vs. SEA ($3,800): Over his last 30 games, Marte has a .381 OBP. Those his overall power numbers aren't notable, at home, in Arizona's hitter-friendly ballpark, he has a .505 slugging percentage. Erasmo Ramirez is having a woeful season, as he has a 7.67 FIP. To be fair, that's in only four starts, but last season he had a 4.45 FIP.
OUTFIELD
Juan Soto, WAS at NYM ($4,700): Soto has been incredibly impressive for a 19-year-old, as he's slashed .287/.408/.512 with 15 homers in 83 games. He's also shown no platoon splits. Somehow, Jason Vargas has gotten 14 starts despite the fact he has a 7.67 ERA. His main problem? He's allowed 2.15 home runs per nine innings.
Nick Castellanos, DET vs. CWS ($4,600): With a homer Thursday, Castellanos now has 19 on the season. A recent hot run of play has given the slugger a .293/.347/.497 slash line. Meanwhile, Reynaldo Lopez has a 5.32 FIP and has given up 1.45 home runs per nine innings. On top of that, he has a 5.11 ERA on the road.
Matt Adams, STL vs. COL ($4,300): Adams hasn't had a chance to make an impact in his return to the Cardinals, but Friday could be the day. The 30-year-old primarily plays against righties, and he has a .538 slugging percentage against them this year. Antonio Senzatela is right handed, and he has a 4.47 ERA to boot.
