PLAYER RECOMMENDATIONS

FORWARDS

Sergio Aguero, MCI v. WBA (£28): Aguero exploded for a hat trick and 37.85 fantasy points in his last Premier League outing, giving him a combined 85.00 points on seven goals over his last three home games. That type of production is worth moving mountains for, especially in a matchup at home against a West Bromwich Albion side that's on the opposite end of the Premier League table.

Raheem Sterling, MCI v. WBA (£24): With Leroy Sane out with an ankle injury, it's really become last man standing in the Manchester City attack. The lack of attacking options puts even more pressure on Sterling to perform, but he's been just fine without the added responsibility, averaging nearly 18 fantasy points per game across his last four appearances at the Etihad Stadium.

MIDFIELDERS

Cesc Fabregas, CHE v. BOU (£18): Fabregas is back in contention after missing some time recently. He was on 9.50 points through 58 minutes before succumbing to a hamstring injury in his last appearance, and that point haul was from peripheral stats alone. If he's back in the starting lineup, he serves as a good building block for fantasy lineups given his consistent production and reasonable salary.

Xherdan Shaqiri, STK v. WAT (£18): Shaqiri put three shots on target and assisted on a goal in his last outing, racking up 15.00 fantasy points. He usually does enough across the board to warrant fantasy consideration regardless of goals or assists and -- when he's firing on all cylinders -- Shaqiri is capable of turning in a GPP-winning fantasy performance.

Bernardo Silva, MCI v. WBA (£14): Silva could be looking at more playing time with Sane out for the next several weeks. While Kevin De Bruyne (£26) and David Silva (£22) are the more attractive plays out of the Manchester City midfield corps, Bernardo Silva saves a healthy chunk of change while providing additional attacking exposure to the biggest favorite on the slate.

DEFENDERS

Marcos Alonso, CHE v. BOU (£17): Alonso was scintillating in Sunday's FA Cup win over Newcastle, assisting on the opening goal and then connecting on a well-taken free kick to ice the match in a 3-0 win. With another favorable matchup against Bournemouth up next, Alonso gives us the best of both worlds as a defender with big attacking upside.

John Stones, MCI v. WBA (£15): Despite no clean sheets, Stones is averaging over six fantasy points per game across his last three appearances. Manchester City and Chelsea offer arguably the best shot at clean sheet points on this slate, putting Stones on the map as potentially the cheapest option from the City back line.

Antonio Rudiger, CHE v. BOU (£14): Rudiger has contributed to a clean sheet in each of his last five starts, and he turned up with a goal three games ago. At home against Bournemouth presents another good opportunity to collect fantasy points on the defensive end, and Rudiger's attacking presence on set pieces adds to his fantasy appeal.

GOALKEEPER

Alex McCarthy, SOU v. BHA (£12): While McCarthy hasn't done much to make a name for himself -- earning just half a point through three games in January -- a home fixture with Brighton combined with his value salary is enough to grab our attention. Brighton have been shut out in two straight, and they haven't scored an away goal in 571 minutes.
