2:45 p.m: Real Madrid v. Juventus
FORWARDS
Cristiano Ronaldo, RMD v. JUV (€27): Fading Ronaldo on a two-game slate feels like the most dangerous thing you can do in daily fantasy soccer. Real Madrid have a big 3-0 aggregate lead after the first leg in Turin, so theoretically they don't have to attack as much as their opponents. That being said, we're talking about Ronaldo, who has scored in 10 consecutive matches in all competitions, finding the back of the net 20 times on 65 shots (36 on target) in that span. With a price not not extraordinarily higher than the other forward options, it seems best to try to differentiate elsewhere.
Robert Lewandowski, FCB v. SEV (€25): Pairing Ronaldo and Lewandowski figures to be a popular strategy given that their salaries aren't outrageously high and they have by far the best goal-scoring odds. Lewandowski was quiet in the opening leg but has bagged a hat trick in each of his last two Bundesliga starts. Thomas Muller (€23) offers an interesting pivot, one that doesn't really apply with Ronaldo.
MIDFIELDERS
James Rodriguez, FCB v. SEV (€18): Bayern are the biggest favorites on the two-game slate, and getting exposure to their attack with the midfield is ideal. James has been incredible of late, with two goals and four assists in his last three starts, and because of his role he comes in with a more stable floor than teammates Arjen Robben (€20), Franck Ribery (€19) and Thiago Alcantara (€21).
Javi Martinez, FCB v. SEV (€13): As mentioned, we have plenty of options in the Bayern midfield, but let's not overlook Martinez, who plays in a defensive role. Capable of taking shots, Martinez has the ability to provide a solid floor thanks to his work racking up defensive peripheral stats. With Bayern such heavy favorites, it wouldn't be outlandish to see him move up a bit, which only helps our cause at such a cheap price.
Casemiro, RMD v. JUV (€15):Casemiro is a destroyer in central midfield, and while his upside is somewhat limited, he should have plenty of work trying to shut down the Juventus attack. The Madrid midfield does offer more attacking options like Toni Kroos (€19) and Isco (€20), but if they're forced to sit back and defend the Juve onslaught, I'd rather have the guy whose first job is to squash that plan.
DEFENDERS
Joshua Kimmich, FCB v. SEV (€15): Kimmich was quiet in the first leg, but he picked up an assist on two chances created and drew two fouls this past weekend against Augsburg, a match that saw Bayern clinch the Bundesliga title. Even though he's not attacking as much as he was earlier in the season (his dropoff in set pieces has contributed to that), Bayern still have the best clean sheet odds on the slate, which only helps his fantasy output. Coupling him with Juan Bernat (€14) isn't a bad idea too, as Bernat has actually played as an attacking winger a bit recently and is more affordable.
Dani Carvajal, RMD v. JUV (€15): If the funds are available, paying a little more for Marcelo (€17) is rarely a bad idea, but Carvajal offers plenty of attacking upside in his own right while playing a Juventus team that need to score but also won't have top attacker Paulo Dybala.
GOALKEEPER
Sven Ulreich, FCB v. SEV (€15): Ulreich has only one clean sheet in his last five matches, but he comes in with the best win and shutout odds on the slate. Keylor Navas (€15) was my other consideration, but Real Madrid could lose 2-0 or 2-1 at home and still advance. On the other hand, Bayern have just a one-goal aggregate lead, and while they did get two goals in Spain, I'm expecting them to attack a decent amount where they should win comfortably at home and allow Ulreich to get back to double-digit fantasy points.
