This is a classic unstoppable force meets an unmovable object game. The 49ers have one of the best offenses in football, but they might struggle to move the rock on the star-studded Eagles' defense. The other side of the ball paints a very different picture. 

San Francisco's defense has been ravaged by injuries. That unit has been one of the worst in the league, ranking as a bottom-10 defense in EPA per play. Without Nick Bosa, the 49ers have a non-existent pass-rush. Their 20-sack season is the worst season-long sack total since the 2022 Bears, who finished with the No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft that year. On paper, Philadelphia's roster should dominate this game. But football isn't played on paper. The loaded Eagles lineup hasn't lived up to potential this season. Philadelphia was just the 19th-best scoring offense in the NFL and ranked 17th in offensive EPA per play. 

Even so, I'm rolling with Philadelphia. The defense is such that the 49ers' offense has to be firing on all cylinders for this team to win in the postseason. I don't see that happening on Sunday. I'm not expecting fireworks from the Eagles' offense, but they should be able to move the ball more than they typically do against a 49ers' defense that has given up at least 27 points in two of the last three weeks.
