Next fight booked
Luciano will fight Ravena Oliveira at UFC Fight Night 262 in Vancouver on October 18, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Luciano aims to bounce back after losing her latest bout via split decision in March. Her opponent was due to face Shauna Bannon in late July but withdrew earlier this week for unknown reasons. Some additional time will allow for these two competitors to meet, both hungry to make a name for themselves in the UFC.

Drops split decision in Vegas
Luciano lost to Sam Hughes via split decision (28-29, 29-28, 27-29) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Luciano had no issues in her UFC debut against Talita Alencar last August but found things much more difficult here against Hughes despite entering as a -165 favorite. Perhaps you could really squint and say the Brazilian deserved both the first and final frames, but Hughes completely dominated in Round 2, and it's likely she was the more effective fighter in Round 1, as well. The good news for Luciano is that she won't be turning 26 years of age until this coming December, so there's plenty of time for her to make improvements moving forward.

Shines in UFC debut
Luciano defeated Talita Alencar via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
This was a rematch of a Contenders Series fight last September that ended in a unanimous draw. Luciano, making her official UFC debut here, left zero doubt which woman was the better fighter. Stephanie used her six-inch height edge to batter Alencar at distance. She landed a Round 3 knockdown and closed with a whopping 72-41 edge in terms of significant strikes landed. She also stuffed 9-of-10 Alencar takedown attempts. It was an excellent showing in a fight which most thought would be plenty competitive. Luciano has theoretical upside given the fact she won't be 25 years of age until mid-December.

Rematch against Alencar in August
Luciano will take on Talita Alencar at a UFC event in Las Vegas on August 10, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
Luciano will take on Alencar in August following their previous match last September, which ended in a draw. The larger Luciano will hope to use her size to take out the more experienced Alencar in what will be Luciano's first UFC bout and eighth professional fight across promotions.

Won't face Polastri
Luciano won't face Julia Polastri at UFC Vegas on March 23 due to dengue fever, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Luciano announced she won't be fighting Luciano in her Instagram stories, and she explained she has been diagnosed with dengue fever, a typical tropical disease carried by several mosquitoes. Luciano should be ready to step in the octagon in the coming weeks, but it remains to be seen when she'll have a new opponent.
