Yahoo DFS Hockey: Thursday Picks

This article is part of our Yahoo DFS Hockey series.

The Montreal Canadiens, against all odds, are on the verge of the Stanley Cup Finals. If they win Game 6 at home Thursday they will eliminate the Golden Knights. Obviously, that means Vegas needs to win on the road to keep the series going. Of course, no teams lack for conviction and determination this time of the year. I'm sure you're also determined to score some cash through DFS hockey. You get $125 in salary to pick five players, including your Superstar worth 1.5 times the points. This may be your last chance to put a lineup together for this series. Here is who I might go with.

SUPERSTAR

Max Pacioretty, VGK at MON ($34): Pacioretty may have the heftiest salary Thursday, but there's good reason for that. He has a three-game point streak and over his last three contests he also has 13 shots on goal. Only twice in the 12 playoff games he's participated in has he been held without a point, and in the postseason he has 40 shots on net. Carey Price has very much outplayed his .901 save percentage from the regular season, but I still have a little more faith in Marc-Andre Fleury than Price.

FLEX

Marc-Andre Fleury, VGK at MON ($29): Speaking of Fleury, I'm going with him in my lineup as he tries to keep the Golden Knights' season going. He has a 2.04 GAA and .918 save percentage in the playoffs, which is admittedly a step down from his 1.98 GAA and .928 save percentage than got him a spot as a Vezina finalist this season. Also, you can trust him on the road. Across the regular season and playoffs he has a .926 save percentage in away games.

Alex Pietrangelo, VGK at MON ($23): After scoring eight points in seven games, Pietrangelo has admittedly been held without a point in his last two contests. However, that doesn't mean he hasn't been incredibly active for the Golden Knights. He played over 26 minutes in both Game 4 and Game 5, and across those two games he had seven shots on goal and six blocked shots.

Nick Suzuki, MON vs. VGK ($20): Suzuki has come up huge in this series. He had three points in Game 5, and that has put him on a three-game point streak. In this series he has 15 shots on net in five contests. Suzuki had 41 points in 56 regular-season games, and the second-year player has carried that over into the playoffs.

Cole Caufield, MON vs. VGK ($18): The Canadiens have tried to make things easy for their rookie winger and the Hobey Baker winner. He's started 71.9 percent of his shifts in the offensive zone in the playoffs, highest on the Canadiens. Well, it's been paying off. Over his last seven games he has three goals and three assists. He's also notched 21 shots on net in those games to boot.
