SLATE PREVIEW
It's a light Tuesday with only three games, leaving most of the action for Wednesday before Thanksgiving Thursday.
The Lightning face a tough test against the Flyers because they will be without Brayden Point. This puts a lot of pressure on Steven Stamkos and Anthony Cirelli is slightly miscast as a No. 2 center because offense isn't his calling card. The Flyers' goaltending has been a strong suit this season, believe it or not.
The Stars have always been tough at home, and how they play Connor McDavid will show us exactly how good they are. They have split their last six meetings, but three were decided in overtime and another in a shootout. Jake Oettinger looks like he may steal the No. 1 job again.
No tandem has been hotter than the Flames' duo. Jacob Markstrom and Daniel Vladar have basically traded shutouts all season, and Darryl Sutter's coaxed a top-five team out of his group. The Flames beaten the Blackhawks in seven of their past nine meetings since 2017.
GOALIES
Andrei Vasilevskiy, TB vs. PHI ($8,500): The matchup isn't great but Vasilevskiy is an elite goalie and a big reason why the Lightning have remained competitive despite missing key players. The Flyers have a talent-laden lineup but have also had trouble scoring goals lately. They have not beaten the Lightning in the regular season since 2017, and Vasilevskiy is 9-2-0 with a .925 Sv% in his career against the Flyers.
Stuart Skinner, EDM at DAL ($8,100): The Oilers will stay mum on their starting goalie for as long as they can, but why wouldn't it be Skinner? The untested rookie has won his past two starts, including a 46-save effort against the Jets. Mikko Koskinen has struggled, and even if Skinner struggles, the Oilers offense should be able to pick up the slack.
Jacob Markstrom, CGY vs. CHI ($7,800): This is a great value play for a matchup the Flames should dominate. They've won four of their past five, three of them via shutout, and will be relishing a home game after a seven-game road trip. The Hawks have also played well, winning five of their past six, but also had the fortune of facing Vancouver, Seattle and Arizona, three of the worst teams in the league. Their run remains unconvincing.
LINE STACKS
Flames vs. Blackhawks
Elias Lindholm (C - $7,600), Matthew Tkachuk (W - $7,000), Johnny Gaudreau (W - $7,400)
Gaudreau has been playing like an MVP with four goals in his past three games and this line has arguably been the best in the entire league. Despite the Hawks' recent success, they're still getting buried in chances, getting outshot by an average of nearly four shots per game.
VALUE PLAYS
Alex Barre-Boulet, TB vs. PHI ($3,500): Barre-Boulet's had a whirlwind season so far, leaving Tampa for a brief spell in Seattle before coming back, and after getting demoted yet again now finds himself playing on the top line. He scored a goal against Minnesota and we shall see if the assignment is long-term, but he's certainly getting the best opportunities.
Derick Brassard, PHI at TB ($4,100): Kevin Hayes' injury vaulted Brassard back up the depth chart back to the No. 2 spot behind Sean Couturier. He'll have excellent talent on the wings, including Claude Giroux on the left and Cam Atkinson on the right, and he's also slated to see time on the first power play unit. It'll be tough to score on the Lightning but the Flyers should have the advantage down the middle with Point out of the lineup.
DEFENSEMEN
Tyson Barrie, EDM at DAL ($5,400): Dallas' 27th-ranked PK is one of the reasons they've been so disappointing this season. Barrie's point production is off his usual pace but continues to be a staple on the top unit. On a night with not a lot of elite defensemen to choose from, Barrie's upside is among the very best. Evan Bouchard ($4,400) is a good value option as the quarterback on the second unit.
Ivan Provorov, PHI at TB ($4,600): Provorov continues to play a ton of minutes and that's where he gets most of his fantasy value. He can contribute in multiple categories and he's got the hot hand with three points in four games. Not having to face Point will make his job a lot easier, too.
Oliver Kylington, CGY vs. CHI ($4,300): Kylington's role continues to expand, and he played a season-high 20 minutes against the Bruins. He's scored 12 points this season on an improved blue line despite losing captain Mark Giordano.
