FanDuel NHL: Tuesday Targets

FanDuel NHL: Tuesday Targets

This article is part of our FanDuel NHL series.

SLATE PREVIEW

It might not really matter who starts for Vegas because, well, this is why they have two good goalies, right? Marc-Andre Fleury's been their guy all postseason but Robin Lehner showed very well last game. Good thing FanDuel's showdown formats don't require a goalie to be drafted.

Playing in front of a full capacity crowd could be a big difference maker, though the big hurdle the Golden Knights face is Carey Price, who has carried the Canadiens this far and may have more in the tank. FanDuel's Sportsbook had the Lightning as heavy favorites in Game 5, and they were proven right after they stomped the Islanders, but they have the Knights as even bigger favorites at -225. Clearly, it won't really matter who's in net for Vegas.

Puck drop is at 8 p.m. EDT.

As with all FanDuel showdown formats, no goalies are available for selection and a Captain can be designated for 1.5x fantasy points. The remaining roster spots are not restricted by position.

VALUE PLAYS

Nicolas Roy, VGK vs. MON ($8,500): Roy remains undefeated in Montreal, though this one wasn't wearing the iconic "CH" logo. Roy's a good value play when he moves up to the top line, though it remains to be seen if he'll stay there with Alex Tuch still in the mix. Tuch ($9,000) is still a good value play and he will most likely see some shifts with the top line as well, having scored an assist last game.

Corey Perry, MON at VGK ($7,000): I like what Perry brings to the team and he's been a clutch performer for the Habs. Teams on the road have had a lot of trouble scoring in the semifinals, averaging just 1.75 goals per game, but if there is anyone who is really good at ruining parties, it's Perry. An added bonus is that he plays on the first PP unit as the net-front presence.

LINE STACKS

William Karlsson ($12,500), Jonathan Marchessault ($12,000), Reilly Smith ($8,000)

If I could pick two it'd be just Karlsson and Marchessault, who have scored 15 points at home during the playoffs. Smith has yet to score a goal at home, which means he may be due, but Vegas' second line is likely a better bet than Max Pacioretty and Mark Stone with a rotating center.

DEFENSEMEN

Alex Pietrangelo, VGK vs. MON ($13,500): I just mentioned how Karlsson and Marchessault have been excellent at home, but Pietrangelo's been even better, tied with Karlsson for the team lead with nine points on home ice. He's been their MVP so far and offers up a ton of stats across the board. Pietrangelo's 35 shots ranks first on the team.

Alec Martinez, VGK vs. MON ($10,000): Martinez is a good play by proxy because he's paired with Pietrangelo. That's not taking anything away from Martinez, but his offensive upside is considerably less though he can make up for it with his incredible shot blocking ability.
