FanDuel NHL: Sunday Targets

FanDuel NHL: Sunday Targets

This article is part of our FanDuel NHL series.

SLATE PREVIEW

Just two games for an easy Sunday as the NHL quickly wraps up a chaotic season. The Stars visit the Blackhawks at 7 p.m. EDT in a meaningless game after the Predators clinched the final playoff spot with a win Saturday. The Senators will visit the Flames at 8, although neither are really in playoff contention even though the Canadiens have yet to clinch.

GOALIES

Jake Oettinger, DAL at CHI ($8,300): Anton Khudobin won the last start, but Oettinger should get the nod based on the rotation and the Stars should give their younger netminder more reps with their postseason hopes dashed. Oettinger has yet to beat the Hawks this season, but two of his three losses came in overtime and still sports a .929 Sv% against.

Jacob Markstrom, CGY vs. OTT ($7,800): It wouldn't be like a Darryl Sutter team if they didn't fight until the bitter end. The Sens have given the Flames huge headaches this season and Markstrom has yet to win against them, but has recently been playing well allowing two goals or fewer in five of his past six starts while Ottawa's playing the second half of a back-to-back.

VALUE PLAYS

Shane Pinto, OTT at CGY ($3,400): Pinto's two helpers gives him five points in his past five contests centering a line with Tim Stutzle and Connor Brown. It took a few games, but Pinto is certainly finding his groove after turning pro earlier this season.

Joel Kiviranta, DAL at CHI ($3,700): Kiviranta has managed three points in his past three games and is slated to skate on the top line with Joe Pavelski and Roope Hintz. The Hawks represent a favorable matchup and will also be without top defenseman Duncan Keith.

LINE STACKS

Stars at Blackhawks

Jamie Benn (W - $6,400), Tyler Seguin (C - $7,400), Jason Robertson (W - $5,600)

Note that Benn is listed as a winger but playing center on this line while Seguin continues to get up to speed. Based on talent alone, this should be the Stars' top line and Seguin has looked excellent so far with two goals in three. Also, Chicago's defense and goaltending have been porous the last two months.

DEFENSEMEN

Miro Heiskanen, DAL at CHI ($4,600): John Klingberg usually offers more production, but Heiskanen's been scoring at roughly the same rate over the past two weeks. The bonus for Heiskanen is that his salary is $800 lower.

Connor Murphy, CHI vs. DAL ($4,300): The positive about Murphy is that he gets shots on net and also blocks a lot of them. He plays plenty of minutes and may see even more ice time with Duncan Keith out of the lineup.

Erik Brannstrom, CGY vs. OTT ($4,000): It's slim pickings on defense, but I like Brannstrom's upside. He's played at least 20 minutes in three straight appearances and provides enough offense, especially with Thomas Chabot sidelined.
