FanDuel NHL: Saturday Targets

FanDuel NHL: Saturday Targets

This article is part of our FanDuel NHL series.

Saturday night brings us six NHL games. There's afternoon hockey, but that's plenty of evening action. I'm drilling down on this slate for players to consider for your DFS lineups.

SLATE PREVIEW

The two teams with the highest GAAs are in action. The Blue Jackets are one of them and will be on the second leg of a back-to-back, though they're at home.

GOALIES

Juuse Saros, NAS at SAN ($8,100): Saros has slipped a bit of late, but he still has a 2.50 GAA and .922 save percentage. Maybe facing the Sharks will help his recent slide since they rank 25th in goals per game.

Vitek Vanecek, WAS vs. SEA ($7,600): The Caps are surely relieved to have Vanecek back. Ilya Samsonov was struggling, but Vanecek has posted a 2.26 GAA and .920 save percentage. Washington's top-five in shots on net allowed per game while the Kraken are bottom-five. Vanecek may not even have to make 20 saves.

VALUE PLAYS

Evander Kane, EDM vs. MON ($6,800): Kane's presence on Leon Draisaitl's wing and the power play is paying off for both the winger and the Oilers with seven goals and six assists from 16 games while putting 46 shots on net. The Canadiens have averaged 34.1 shots on goal against with a league-high 3.82 GAA.

Tanner Jeannot, NAS at SAN ($4,600): Jeannot has recently moved up to the Preds' second line for the Predators and he's earned that with 18 goals and 14 assists. The Sharks are missing their top-two goalies due to injury. That leaves third-string goalie Zach Sawchenko, who has never played a full NHL game.

LINE STACKS TO CONSIDER

Bruins at Blue Jackets: Patrice Bergeron (C - $6,600), Brad Marchand (W - $8,700), Jake DeBrusk (W - $5,300)

In addition to the league's second-highest GAA, the Blue Jackets have allowed the most shots on net. Jean-Francois Berube will likely be in net for Columbus. He's faced so many pucks that he's registered a 3.25 GAA to go with his .924 save percentage. During his career, that latter number sits at .902. So let's go with Boston's first line.

Bergeron's 7.7 shooting percentage is surprisingly low, but it hasn't stopped him from racking up 15 goals and 26 assists or tallying three times in his last six outings. Since returning from suspension, Marchand has posted five points and 27 shots on net. DeBrusk was recently moved up to Boston's lead trio, and it's paid off big time with seven goals and two assists across the last seven.

Canucks at Maple Leafs: J.T. Miller (C - $7,900), Brock Boeser (W - $6,100), Tanner Pearson (W - $4,500)

Jack Campbell has gone from All-Star to a concern for the Leafs with a 3.35 GAA and .893 save percentage over his last 20 appearances. Two of the players listed here skate on Vancouver's top line and have been mentioned in trade rumors, but for now they're still with the squad and make for fine choices in your DFS lineups.

Miller has recently been on fire riding an eight-game point streak where he's recorded five goals and 10 assists. He's also been incredible on the power play with 26 points. Boeser got off to a slow start to the season, but has managed 12 points in his last 14 games. He's also directed 14 shots on net from his last five contests. Pearson recently had a five-game point streak end, pushing him up to 25 on the campaign.

DEFENSE

John Carlson, WAS vs. SEA ($6,800): Carlson has produced 12 points in his last 12 games, including six with the extra man while averaging a whopping 4:05 on the power play. The Kraken maintain a bottom-10 penalty kill, not to mention a 3.54 GAA.

Oliver Ekman-Larsson, VAN at TOR ($4,600): Most of Ekman-Larsson's offensive output has come of late with eight points across 11 games. While he's been relatively hot, Jack Campbell has been quite cold as mentioned earlier.
