2010 Champions Tour Rankings

2010 Champions Tour Rankings

1. Bernhard Langer
2009 Rank: 1
Events Played: 20
2009 Earnings: $2,139,451
2010 Earnings: $2,300,000
2010 Outlook: Langer comes into this season as the two-time defending money list champion. There's no reason to think that changes this year as Langer has acclimated well since joining the tour a couple years ago.

2. Loren Roberts
2009 Rank: 2
Events Played: 22
2009 Earnings: $1,960,613
2010 Earnings: $2,000,000
2010 Outlook: Roberts won the Charles Schwab Cup last season and finished second on the money list for the second time in the past three seasons. Roberts is about as consistent as it gets on the Champions Tour and should again challenge for the Cup.

3. John Cook
2009 Rank: 3
Events Played: 23
2009 Earnings: $1,798,664
2010 Earnings: $1,900,000
2010 Outlook: Cook won twice last season and topped his previous Champion's Tour high of 2008, by earning nearly $1.8 million last season. As one of the younger players on the Champion's Tour, Cook should continue to improve this season.

4. Fred Funk
2009 Rank: 5
Events Played: 21
2009 Earnings: $1,563,810
2010 Earnings: $1,800,000
2010 Outlook: Funk hasn't quite lived up to his potential on the Champions Tour just yet. Sure, he's finished third and fifth in his only full seasons on this tour, but as someone who was still playing at a high level on the PGA TOUR just a couple years ago, you'd expect a little more. This could be the year, however, as each season Funk puts more of an

This could be the year, however, as each season Funk puts more of an emphasis on this tour.

5. Jay Haas
2009 Rank: 4
Events Played: 21
2009 Earnings: $1,758,395
2010 Earnings: $1,600,000
2010 Outlook: Haas might hold the answer to how quickly a player fades on this tour. In 2007, Haas lead all players in earnings with a whopping $2.5 million, but his production has dropped gradually the past two seasons. His production will likely drop again in 2010, but if it's anything like the previous two drops, he'll remain near the top-5 for one more season.

6. Jeff Sluman
2009 Rank: 6
Events Played: 25
2009 Earnings: $1,378,094
2010 Earnings: $1,500,000
2010 Outlook: Sluman has finished fourth and sixth on the Champion's Tour money list the last two seasons and there's no reason to think he won't be in that range again this year. If Sluman is to make the jump into the top-5 again, he'll need to earn multiple wins, like he did in 2008.

7. Joey Sindelar
2009 Rank: 11
Events Played: 23
2009 Earnings: $1,124,437
2010 Earnings: $1,300,000
2010 Outlook: In his second full season on the Champion's Tour, Sidelar went from 25th to 11th on the money list. As a "young gun" on this tour, he should continue his ascent.

8. Dan Forsman
2009 Rank: 9
Events Played: 23
2009 Earnings: $1,203,638
2010 Earnings: $1,300,000
2010 Outlook: In his first full season on the Champion's Tour, Forsman picked up one win and cracked the top-10 in earnings. Forsman should continue to climb the list and possibly crack the top-5 this season.

9. Nick Price
2009 Rank: 10
Events Played: 19
2009 Earnings: $1,144,452
2010 Earnings: $1,200,000
2010 Outlook: Nick Price finshed the season in the top-10 on the money list, but there's no guarantee he'll be back in 2010. Price's ceiling looks to be around $1.2 million or so and doesn't have much upside.

10. Gene Jones
2009 Rank: 12
Events Played: 23
2009 Earnings: $1,120,812
2010 Earnings: $1,200,000
2010 Outlook: Jones has cracked $1 million in each of his first two seasons on the Champion's Tour, but he's yet to pick up a win. That's a little troubling considering most of the players in this area have found a way to win on this tour. That said, even without a victory, Jones should remain in this ballpark again and if he happens to find a win, it will be a nice bonus.

11. Andy Bean
2009 Rank: 7
Events Played: 24
2009 Earnings: $1,313,217
2010 Earnings: $1,200,000
2010 Outlook: Bean has played well the last two seasons, including last year when he finished runner-up five times. Bean did not win last season, but he did find the winner's circle in 2008. Although he's played at a high level the last two seasons, he likely won't improve this year. He may have peaked at this level.

12. Russ Cochran
2009 Rank: 17
Events Played: 16
2009 Earnings: $900,696
2010 Earnings: $1,100,000
2010 Outlook: Cochran played well in his rookie season last year and as he gets accustomed to this tour, he should improve. It's hard to say where his ceiling is, but considering he did not win in his rookie season, it looks like the top-10 is the goal for Cochran.

13. Mark O'Meara
2009 Rank: 8
Events Played: 20
2009 Earnings: $1,278,985
2010 Earnings: $1,100,000
2010 Outlook: O'Meara bounced back from an awful 2008 season last year, but the fact that he had that clunker of a season is a little worrisome. When looking at the players in the top-10, you can risk a pick on guy who might not be here again this season. Most of the players in the top-10 are pretty reliable, O'Meara may not be.

14. Larry Mize
2009 Rank: 15
Events Played: 20
2009 Earnings: $1,003,502
2010 Earnings: $1,100,000
2010 Outlook: Mize played well on the Champion's Tour in his first full season and should improve on that effort this year. Mize played only once on the PGA TOUR in 2009, and as he gets further away from that tour, his Champion's Tour performance should continue to improve.

15. Mark McNulty
2009 Rank: 13
Events Played: 23
2009 Earnings: $1,113,625
2010 Earnings: $1,000,000
2010 Outlook: Mark McNulty peaked in 2005 when he finished third on the money list and earned nearly $1.8 million. McNulty continues to hang around the million dollar mark, but his production is slipping.

16. Tom Watson
2009 Rank: 20
Events Played: 12
2009 Earnings: $798,672
2010 Earnings: $900,000
2010 Outlook: We all witnessed what Tom Watson could do last year at the British Open where he was one putt away from taking home the Claret Jug. Winning, however, might have actually been detrimental to his Champion's Tour production. With a renewed focus on the Champion's Tour, expect a better 2010 season.

17. Brad Bryant
2009 Rank: 16
Events Played: 22
2009 Earnings: $936,110
2010 Earnings: $850,000
2010 Outlook: Bryant's production has regressed since he peaked in 2007 when he earned over 1.8 million and finished third on the money list. At 55 Bryant's better days on the course are likely behind him and as such, you can expect another slight decline in his numbers this season.

18. Tom Kite
2009 Rank: 18
Events Played: 25
2009 Earnings: $848,871
2010 Earnings: $800,000
2010 Outlook: Kite turned 60 in December, and though he's still got plenty of game, the odds on Kite improving on a decent 2009 season are not good.

19. Mark Wiebe
2009 Rank: 19
Events Played: 25
2009 Earnings: $817,048
2010 Earnings: $700,000
2010 Outlook: Wiebe won in each of his first two seasons on the Champion's Tour but failed to win last season. Most concerning are his top-10 numbers, though. Last year, only five top-10s in 25 starts.

20. Keith Fergus
2009 Rank: 14
Events Played: 24
2009 Earnings: $1,004,340
2010 Earnings: $700,000
2010 Outlook: Fergus may have turned the corner last season as he won twice, but even with those two wins, he still failed to crack the top-10 in earnings. He's been inconsistent the past five years. Don't expect another multiple win effort this season, and as such, he'll likely fall out of the top-20.
