Tournament Preview
The European Tour is at Club de Campo Villa de Madrid this week for the first time since 1996 for the Mutuactivos Open de Espana. The course is an undulating tree-lined track played at altitude. The greens are small and bunker protected. Current and season-long form will help guide the picks. Two stats that will focus on this week are SG: approach and SG: around the green. Accuracy to the small greens will be important as well as getting up and down, should golfers miss the green.

DRAFTKINGS Picks (with odds)
Andrea Pavan - $9,900 (16/1)
The three favorites at the top, all Spaniards, should be good plays. I will start with Pavan and take the savings. The weaker field this week keeps me from wanting to dip too low in price. I will go with a balanced build, and Pavan at $9,900 leaves plenty of money to stay well above $7,000 with the rest of my golfers. Pavan arrives in Spain continuing his good form with a T10 last week in Scotland. He is ranked 30th in SG: approach and 49th in SG: around the green. He has a win this season and two additional top fives.
Adri Arnaus - $9,600 (28/1)
Arnaus has been a little quiet the last couple tournaments, but this week should be a good bounce-back spot on home soil. This has been a good season for the Spaniard, he has finished T2 twice and has a solo second. One of those T2s was in Spain at Andalucia Masters, so he is definitely comfortable in front of the home crowd. He has a decent approach game and is ranked 51st in SG: around the green.
Jamie Donaldson - $7,800 (80/1)
Arriving in Spain after not playing the final day in Scotland, Donaldson also appears to be a bounce-back candidate. The second half of his season has been an improvement with a T9 at Scottish Open and T5 at Scandinavian Invitation. His game should match up nicely with this classically designed course. He is an accurate ball striker. Donaldson is ranked 26th in SG: approach and second around the green.
Zander Lombard - $7,300 (80/1)
Lombard has made seven cuts in his last nine starts. He finished T16 or better in three of those. He arrives at Club de Campo following a T26 at Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. His approach game has been on fire this season, ranking 13th. Lombard is ranked 16th on tour in SG: around the green. The flat stick is what sometimes holds him back, hopefully that won't be the case this week.
