Tournament Preview

The Race to Dubai comes to a conclusion this week. The top European Tour golfers for the season will compete in a 60-player, no-cut event. The championship is once again being contested on the Earth Course at Jumeirah Golf Estates. Although the course is massive in length, shorter hitters have enjoyed success here as well. The course consists of wide fairways littered with bunkers and large undulating greens. Water appears on five holes including the 17th island green. This week, ball striking will be focused, as well as sand saves. Course history is abundant and will be considered highly along with recent form.

DraftKings Picks

Matthew Fitzpatrick $10,600 (14/1)

At the top, Fitzpatrick is my favorite play. He saves you a little money -- which is important with the tight pricing this week -- but still provides upside. Matthew won here last year and finished T4 in 2015. He enters this week in fantastic form, as he hasn't finished worse than T15 in his last seven events. Fitzpatrick's track record shows he has the skills to succeed at Jumeirah Golf Estates.

Victor Dubuisson $9,700 (22/1)

I am going back to the well this week with Dubuisson as one of my picks. He played well last week and I expect the hot hand to continue after he finished T4 last year, T13 in 2015, T2 in 2014 and solo third in 2013. Dubuisson is ranked 30th in greens in regulation and is riding good form. He was 3rd last week at Nedbank Golf Challenge.

Joost Luiten $8,000 (40/1)

Luiten is having a good season but has yet to get a win. He finished solo secondnd last month in Spain and followed that up with T16 in Turkey and T12 last week. Joost knows the course well with a couple top-tens here in recent years, and T13 last year. He is striking the ball well and I would assume he will make another strong run this week. At $8,000, he appears to be a must-play given his fantasy production.

Haydn Porteous $7,200 (90/1)

Porteous appears to be a good choice in the bottom tier. He is having a great year, including a win back in September at Czech Masters. He has shown more consistency this year after a slow start, and I believe the young South African's future is extremely bright. He has been trending in the right direction the last few tournaments, finishing T12 last week at Nedbank Golf Challenge. It is his first time at DP World Tour Championship and I expect him to have a strong showing.
