NFL All-Decade Series: Top 10 Wide Receiver Performances

NFL All-Decade Series: Top 10 Wide Receiver Performances

In the NFL All-Decade series, we revisit and recap the top fantasy performances of the decade. In our post-Christmas edition, we'll take a look at the most spectacular wide receiver showcases since 2010.

For our WR series, fantasy points are calculated based on:

  • 0.5 points per reception
  • 1 point per 10 receiving/rushing yards (0.1 point per yard)
  • 6 points per receiving/rushing TD
  • 2 points per two-point conversion scored
  • -2 points per fumble lost

10) Alshon Jeffery: 42.9 fantasy points - Bears 20 @ Vikings 23 (Week 13 - 2013)

12 catches, 249 yards, 2 TDs

The big-bodied wideout never looked better than in his sophomore season, and his dominant performance over Minnesota's secondary couldn't have showcased that better. Leaping catches, broken tackles and two long TD catches defined Jeffery's legacy in Chicago.

9) Josh Gordon: 43.1 fantasy points - Browns 28 vs Jaguars 32 (Week 13 - 2013)

10 catches, 261 yards, 2 TDs

Memories of Josh Gordon's dominant 2013 season, when he was arguably the best wide receiver in the NFL, have propelled his career through innumerable twists and turns. Once upon a time, "Flash" made Brandon Weeden look the part of a superstar, despite briefly leaving the game with a head injury. On the back of this performance, Gordon became the first player in league history to record back-to-back games with 200-plus receiving yards. And he did it in the same week as Jeffery's above breakout.

8) Wes Welker: 43.6 fantasy points - Patriots 31 @ Bills 34 (Week 3 - 2011)

16 catches, 217 yards, 2 TDs; 1 carry, 19 yards

True to his nature as a PPR monster, Welker tied New England's franchise record of 16 receptions during this division win. He'd go on to lead the league with 122 receptions on the season, tied for the fourth-highest total in NFL history.

7) Calvin Johnson: 43.9 fantasy points - Lions 31 vs. Cowboys 30 (Week 8 - 2013)

14 catches, 329 yards, 1 TD, 1 fumble lost

The Cowboys made the mistake of asking Brandon Carr to contain Megatron with 1-on-1 coverage to start this contest, and the superstar wideout repaid the favor by logging the second-highest single-game yardage total in NFL history at his position. Even after Dallas attempted to adjust to double-coverage formations, Johnson redoubled his efforts and managed a leaping highlight-reel reception over the heads of two DBs.

6) Kenny Britt: 44.0 fantasy points - Titans 37 vs. Eagles 19 (Week 7 - 2010)

7 catches, 225 yards, 3 TDs

Britt paired up with second-string QB Kerry Collins to record the highest single-game yardage total ever against an Eagles secondary. As a result of this performance, many a dynasty manager made the mistake of investing the farm in the second-year pro.

5) Amari Cooper: 44.7 fantasy points - Cowboys 29 vs. Eagles 23 (Week 14 - 2018)

10 catches, 217 yards, 3 TDs

The initial reactions to Dallas trading a first-round pick to Oakland in exchange for Cooper were, to put it mildly, mixed at best. He put many of those concerns to rest with a statistically great end to the 2018 season, which his Week 14 performance exemplifies. Each of his touchdowns came in the fourth quarter (or later).

4) Julio Jones: 44.8 fantasy points - Falcons 34 vs. Buccaneers 20 (Week 12 - 2017)

12 catches, 253 yards, 2 TDs

It's just not easy for a WR to have any better of a performance than Jones did Week 12 of 2017. The future Hall of Famer was as close to uncoverable as one can be, but his outing came after a shockingly lackluster fantasy season. Before blowing up against Tampa Bay, Jones had scored just once on the year and been held under 100 yards in all but two contests.

3) Eric Decker: 45.4 fantasy points - Broncos 35 @ Chiefs 28 (Week 13 - 2013)

8 catches, 174 yards, 4 TDs

Decker's short-lived tenure as a fantasy superstar didn't detract from his memorability. He set career highs in terms of both yards and TDs in Week 13 of the 2013 season, doing his part to contribute to Peyton Manning's historic passing season. Also, it's worth noting that this is the third performance on our list from Week 13, 2013 – a strange statistical abnormality.

2) Andre Johnson: 45.4 fantasy points - Texans 24 vs. Colts 27 (Week 9 - 2013)

9 catches, 229 yards, 3 TDs

Dealing with changes at the QB position didn't slow Johnson down. He connected with Case Keenum (in his NFL debut) to end a season-long scoring drought in convincing fashion. Johnson would be named to the final Pro Bowl of his storied career to cap the 2013 campaign.

1) Will Fuller: 46.7 fantasy points - Texans 53 vs. Falcons 32 (Week 5 - 2019)

14 catches, 217 yards, 3 TDs

One from recent memory for the record books, Fuller reminded the league exactly how dangerous he can be when fully healthy, even if those occasions are few and far between. He hadn't scored leading into the contest and hadn't yet recorded 70 receiving yards in a single game. Fuller was also tackled at the 1-yard line twice, so his performance could've been even more monstrous.

Honorable Mentions

11) Sammy Watkins: 42.3 fantasy points - Chiefs 40 @ Jaguars 26 (Week 1 - 2019)

9 catches, 198 yards, 3 TDs

12) Julio Jones: 42.0 fantasy points - Falcons 49 vs. Panthers 33 (Week 4 - 2016)

12 catches, 300 yards, 1 TD

13 catches, 170 yards, 3 TDs

14) Mike Evans: 41.0 fantasy points - Buccaneers 31 vs. Giants 32 (Week 3 - 2019)

8 catches, 190 yards, 3 TDs

15) Andre Johnson: 40.3 fantasy points - Texans 43 vs. Jaguars 37 (Week 11 - 2012)

14 catches, 273 yards, 1 TD

9 catches, 238 yards, 2 TDs

17) Marvin Jones: 40.2 fantasy points - Bengals 49 vs. Jets 9 (Week 8 - 2013)

8 catches, 122 yards, 4 TDs

18) Stefon Diggs: 40.0 fantasy points - Vikings 38 vs. Eagles 20 (Week 6 - 2019)

7 catches, 167 yards, 3 TDs

19) A.J. Green: 39.7 fantasy points - Bengals 28 @ Ravens 24 (Week 3 - 2015)

10 catches, 227 yards, 2 TDs

20) Dez Bryant: 38.9 fantasy points - Cowboys 31 vs. Saints 34 (Week 16 - 2012)

9 catches, 224 yards, 2 TDs
