EuroLeague Basketball Picks: Best Bets for Round 15 - Thursday

T.J. Leaf will have the matchup firmly in his favor, and that lands the Maccabi big man a spot among the top plays Kurt Jones has compiled for Thursday's EuroLeague games.
EuroLeague Basketball Picks: Best Bets for Round 15 - Thursday

Best EuroLeague Bets for Thursday, Dec. 11

We have to discuss the elephant in the room, which was the horrendous reverse sweep we had last Friday. It was our such instance of the season, and when it happened the first time I said it wouldn't be our last. It comes with the territory, and as long as we have more sweeps of the positive variety and are profitable, we're still ahead in the long run.

All odds for EuroLeague player props current as of 6:45 AM ET Thursday.

PICKS TO CLICK

Jordan Loyd Over 12.5 Points (-112 FanDuel)

Buy the dip! Loyd had a rough outing his last time out against Real Madrid, going 1-of-9 from the floor and finishing with only three points. However, that's why we get this number and not one pushing 15. Loyd did bounce back in his club's last domestic contest, dropping 22 points, so I think there is some light ladder potential for the scoring-first guard. Although his Round 14 matchup was favorable for guards, he will have another one Thursday, as Valencia is ceding the third most points to backcourt players.

T.J. Leaf Over 12.5 Points+Rebounds (-110 bet365)

It's a tale as old as time: take big men against ASVEL. Leaf will come off the bench and play about 15-to-20 minutes, which doesn't seem like much. However, in the right matchup he really doesn't need much playing time thanks to his solid usage and rebound rate. Just four games ago he went for 19 points and seven rebounds against Baskonia -- another team I like to go with big men against -- over only 20 minutes. Any foul trouble for Roman Sorkin only boosts our chances here.

Matteo Spagnolo 8+ Points (+156 DraftKings)

We will start off by noting we are only going with a half unit in what should be a high-scoring matchup. I thought Baskonia would be a great spot to target lately Hamidou Diallo departing, but their guard rotation is still tough to read, and the only constant has been versatile wing man Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot. Spagnolo has been good to us this season, and his playing time has been consistent, which is what you want to see from a guy who commands the ball when on the court. I was really hoping to find a combination play with his assist potential, but no dice.
