DraftKings LoL: Friday LPL Cheat Sheet

This article is part of our DraftKings League of Legends series.

Games (EDT)

  • 3:00 a.m. LNG Esports vs. Team WE
  • 6:00 a.m. JD Gaming vs. Dominus Esports
  • 8:00 a.m. EDward Gaming vs. Invictus Gaming

LNG (4-10) vs WE (6-7)

LNG have nothing to play for, and they have been experimenting with subs heading into the offseason. Their season turned for the worst once the league went online and now their coordination has been thrown off ever since. Even with these subs, I don't see any improvements or change in their gameplan aside from not playing through their top laner. WE and Rogue Warriors are the two teams left that could take that last playoff spot, so they will need to win this game. WE took a game off IG, and they were competitive as they played their side lanes well, and instead of playing through teacherma, they played through Jiemung and he popped off. Seeing WE change up their style and gameplan tells me they are adapting to how other teams play, as well as strengthening their weakness. WE should win this game through pressure around the map, thanks in large part to the fact their teamfighting is one of the best in the league in terms of kill participation percentage.

Prediction: WE 2-0

Bets: N/A

WE Players to target:  Beishang (JNG $7,400), Jiumeng (ADC $8,200), Missing (SUP $6,000)

DMO (6-9) vs JDG (10-4)

My boys in Dominus Esports have been coming through the last few weeks, but unfortunately I think that trend ends here. DMO have slowed down their tempo

DMO (6-9) vs JDG (10-4)

My boys in Dominus Esports have been coming through the last few weeks, but unfortunately I think that trend ends here. DMO have slowed down their tempo and started to focus on their macro more than just diving into teamfights. It's almost as if they finally realized there is more to League of Legends than fighting. The problem with this matchup is that DMO is going to get the same sort of pressure Friday that they applied to Royal Never Give Up in Wednesday's sweep. JD Gaming have one of the best early games in professional League, as they seemingly always have a 5,000 gold lead in 15 minutes. Credit for that advantage largely goes to Kanavi, who is really good at grabbing objectives as well as getting his teammates fed. DMO can punch back up, but when you have a player with an unlimited champion pool, it's hard to ban out that advantage. JDG are my favorites to win the Spring Split and I think they take care of business here as they can play for a better seed after the eStar loss Thursday morning.

Prediction: JDG 2-0

Bets: N/A

JDG Players to target: Kanavi (JNG $7,200), Yagao (MID $7,600)

EDG (9-5) vs IG (12-2)

This is my underdog special as I believe EDward Gaming is capable enough to take this series. Invictus Gaming's last series finally saw a respectful draft in Game 1, and they smashed WE under 20 minutes which made me think we finally might see IG get into form for playoffs. Game 2 and 3 were different as WE adapted and started playing through their side lanes more and this caused IG to only rely on Rookie who was excellent all series. EDG are back with their full roster and this is a team that has had IG's number in previous years, but with a new jungler and a former coach who has been through all the IG games, they are looking to solidify themselves as playoffs contenders. Hope is sneakily having a good season, as he is top 5 in CS per minute, leads the entire league in KDA and his damage percentage is better than Puff. IG's only real damage dealers are TheShy, Rookie and Puff; Leyan and Southwind haven't been under-performing, but they are the two that stick out when it comes to teamfights. JieJie has been putting up better numbers than Leyan In the few games they played, and in this meta where junglers are very important, he should have his way with IG. If EDG can be more proactive early on and get Hope ahead, they can let Scout just farm as he is one of the few mid laners that can go toe to toe with Rookie. This is going to be a scrappy game and I would target it from both angles.

Prediction: EDG 2-1

Bets: EDG ML (+135)

EDG Players to target: Jinoo (TOP $5,600), JieJie (JNG $6,600), Hope (ADC $7,400)

Stacks:

Cash: WE/JDG

GPP: EDG/JDG, EDG/WE
