DraftKings LoL LCS: Sunday Cheat Sheet
Today is another day with some intriguing matchups. Renegades and TSM are the heaviest favorites of the day, while C9/CLG, IMT/NRG, and FOX/TL should be good games as well. I think NRG vs. IMT could be the most fantasy relevant game of the day as I expect the game should be close. While NRG players present better value as they are considerably cheaper, I wouldn't hesitate to use players from either team in this matchup.
Daily Player Recommendations:
Top Lane:
Darshan (CLG vs. Cloud9, $6,600): Darshan hasn't necessarily been the main carry for CLG like I thought he might be. Even so, he's third in the league in assists from the top lane in his first three games and always has the potential to carry from the top lane. CLG should be looking at a win against Cloud9 here, albeit a close one. I like Darshan's price in a good matchup against Balls today.
Other Suggestions: Lourlo (TL vs. FOX, $6,700), Hauntzer (TSM vs. DIG, $6,900)
Top Lane Player to Avoid:
RF Legendary (REN vs. TIP, $7,100): In theory, Renegades have an easy game they should win against TiP, but I thought the same about Cloud9 yesterday and we all know how that ended. RF is the highest priced top laner, but has been average in terms of production thus far. I'd rather take a shot on a top laner with more upside Sunday.
Jungle:
Reignover (IMT vs. NRG, $6,000): Reignover has played great thus far three games into his NALCS career, posting an outstanding 11/2/22 KDA. This game should be a good one and although it's risky to choose between solo laners from either team, IMT has the advantage in the jungle with Reignover.
Other Suggestions: Kirei (DIG vs. TSM , $4,900 GPP Only), Dardoch (TL vs. FOX, $6,100)
Jungle Player to Avoid:
Crumbzz (REN vs. TIP, $6,400): Much like RF Legendary you're paying top salary for average play from Crumbzz today. Again, you'd like to pick Renegades to win, but how fantasy relevant will their players be considering their salaries? I'm not sure it'll be worth the price.
Middle Lane:
Fenix (TL vs. FOX, $7,700): Fenix is in a good matchup against Echo Fox and their substitute players today. Although Goldenglue has LCS experience I think Fenix should be a good play in a win for Team Liquid. The only possible downside is that Fenix has been more assist-driven thus far --- if the kills pick up today you're looking at a good fantasy gamble.
Other Suggestions: Huhi (CLG vs. C9, $7,500), GBM (NRG vs. IMT, $6,500)
Mid Laner to Avoid:
Jensen (C9 vs. CLG, $6,600): Jensen hasn't had the best start to his split, including a terrible game yesterday against TiP. With Hai back in the lineup for C9 today, maybe he will be the remedy the team needs for success, but I wouldn't count on it. Considering C9's tough opponent Sunday, I'd stay away from Jensen.
ADC:
Piglet (TL vs. FOX, $8,200): Like Fenix, Piglet is in a good spot against Echo Fox to be a top fantasy performer today. However, unlike Fenix, Piglet also has been able to pick up a very nice KDA thus far, sitting at 16/8/16 on the season. Expect him to help carry Team Liquid to victory today.
Other Suggestions: Wildturtle (IMT vs. NRG, $8,100), Doublelift (TSM vs. DIG, $8,400)
ADC Player to Avoid:
LoD (REN vs. TIP, $8,500): Again the matchup is favorable and if Freeze were playing I'd be all over him. But unfortunately LoD is the substitute and although he may end up with a solid game, I don't think he'll come close to earning his top salary across the board. Look for cheaper players who could present higher upside over LoD today.
Support:
KonKwon (NRG vs. IMT, $4,900): KonKwon is my favorite cheap play at support today. If you are like me an unintersted in paying over $6,000 for your support, then look at KonKwon in a matchup against IMT or use some of the options below.
Other Suggestions: Kiwikid (DIG vs. TSM, $4,500), Aphromoo (CLG vs. C9, $5,900)
Support Player to Avoid:
YellowStaR (TSM vs. DIG, $6,200): I didn't list a lot of TSM players in this article because wouldn't it be just like Team Dignitas to win this game? Yellowstar is obviously a fine player, but if you want to pay up for your support today I think there are better options in other games. I can see DIG winning this game.
Team:
Team Liquid vs. Echo Fox ($4,800): I think Team Liquid has the best match up today. Echo Fox is playing with two substitutes and TL should be able to win this one pretty handily. The other seemingly solid matchups include Renegades vs. TIP and TSM vs. Dignitas, but this is the safest game in my opinion.
