FanDuel College Football: Week 13 Picks

CASH-GAME TARGETS

QB

Paxton Lynch – Memphis vs. SMU ($7,800)

This is probably the chalkiest play to make at quarterback, but I'm not inclined to get cute on this one. Memphis is projected to score 40-plus points in what Lynch would be smart to make his final home game at Memphis. SMU's defense can't resist the Memphis offense, and at under $8,000 this is just too affordable for me to pass on. Lynch will be in my GPP lineups, too.

Honorable mention: Deshaun Watson - Clemson at South Carolina ($10,100), Josh Rosen – UCLA at USC ($7,600)

RB

Joseph Williams – Utah vs. Colorado ($6,000)

Williams was called the heir apparent to Devontae Booker by Utah coaches, and his starting debut against UCLA last week only reinforced that idea. The shifty Williams finished with 121 yards on 26 carries, adding four catches for 31 yards, and now he gets a matchup with a Colorado defense that's probably more vulnerable against the run than UCLA. Williams' already high usage might be even higher with lead wideout Britain Covey out with injury.

Derrick Henry – Alabama at Auburn ($9,300)

Henry is over 20 touchdowns on the year and now he gets a matchup with an Auburn defense that's allowing two rushing touchdowns and over 180 rushing yards per game against SEC opponents. Looks like a slam dunk.

Honorable mention: Travon McMillian – Virginia Tech at Virginia ($7,400), Elijah Hood – North Carolina at North Carolina State ($7,300), Paul Perkins – UCLA at USC ($7,200), Sony Michel – Georgia at Georgia Tech ($6,700)

WR

Isaiah Ford – Virginia Tech at Virginia ($6,100)

Ford likely doesn't have huge upside in Virginia Tech's modest passing game, but the young star wideout is cash game gold. The Hokies have no depth at receiver and have to rely on Ford, who gets a pushover matchup against a Virginia defense that has allowed 24 passing touchdowns compared to three interceptions.

Calvin Ridley – Alabama at Auburn ($5,300)

Ridley's profile this week is similar to Ford's. Lane Kiffin builds his offense to funnel targets to a designated lead wideout, and Ridley has established himself in that role over the more complementary ArDarius Stewart. Auburn's pass defense is respectable, but Ridley is an electrifying talent with a highly reliable target count.

Honorable mention: Juju Smith-Schuster – USC vs. UCLA ($7,200), Jordan Payton – UCLA at USC ($6,300), Thomas Duarte – UCLA at USC ($6,000), Deon Cain – Clemson at South Carolina ($4,800)

TE

Jaylen Samuels – North Carolina State vs. North Carolina ($5,400)

I just don't see a reason to not pay up for Samuels, especially since the cap on this slate is not particularly hard. Samuels is the top candidate to score from scrimmage for North Carolina State, and it's not even close. Playing at home in a rivalry game, you have to expect the Wolfpack to find the end zone, and therefore you have to like Samuels' chances of doing the same.

TOURNAMENT-SPECIFIC TARGETS

QB

Jacoby Brissett – North Carolina State vs. North Carolina ($6,800)

North Carolina's defense has been strong against the pass this year, but Brissett has shown the ability to perform at a high level even against tough defenses, and in this final home game he'll no doubt be focused in this rivalry matchup. The Tar Heels will likely put enough pressure on North Carolina State for the Wolfpack to throw more aggressively than they would normally, and Brissett could post a line similar to what he did against an even tougher Clemson defense, when he threw for 254 yards and three touchdowns while running for a fourth.

Honorable mention: previously named cash-game targets, Travis Wilson – Utah vs. Colorado ($6,900)

RB

Paul Perkins – UCLA at USC ($7,200)

I like Perkins as both a cash-game and tournament option, but I think USC's decent run defense makes him a slightly better fit for tournament lineups. Particularly if you're considering a Derrick Henry fade – though I would not advocate that – Perkins might be the horse best suited to pull you to the lead. He's cheap enough to let you spend well at other positions, and he's averaging over 25 touches per game in his last three games.

Honorable mention: Previously mentioned cash-game targets, Wayne Gallman – Clemson at South Carolina ($6,800), Stanley Williams - Kentucky vs. Louisville ($6,300)

WR

Thomas Duarte – UCLA at USC ($6,000)

Most of those looking to take a stab at the UCLA passing game will presumably look to fellow wideout Jordan Payton, but I prefer Duarte. Even if Payton has a slightly higher target volume, Duarte is the more explosive player by far, and is the one most likely to score a touchdown. USC just got a well-publicized torching from the Oregon passing game, so I like the quietly ascending Duarte's chances of hitting the scoreboard.

Honorable mention: Previously mentioned cash-game targets, Anthony Miller – Memphis vs. SMU ($6,100), Mose Frazier – Memphis vs. SMU ($5,800), Courtland Sutton – SMU at Memphis ($5,000), Malcolm Mitchell – Georgia at Georgia Tech ($4,900), Phil Mayhue – Memphis vs. SMU ($4,500)
