College Football DFS: Cheez-It Bowl/Alamo Bowl Slate

The Cheez-It and Alamo Bowls are on Tuesday's docket of postseason college football action, featuring four teams that should be fun to watch.  Let's get to it!

SLATE OVERVIEW

Miami (FL) vs.Oklahoma State (-2.5) O/U: 58.5

Colorado vs. Texas (-9.5) O/U: 63.5

This is going to be an enjoyable slate because you aren't under any stringent salary constraints. We won't have to make compromises at QB or S-FLEX due to some very reasonable prices, especially on the wideout list, where you can find very affordable options for well below the median salary on both sites.  It's especially true on DraftKings, where several players are setting at lower-than-expected salary levels. Both of these games have appealing Over/Under numbers, and we should be getting targets for all four games.  There are a couple of universal locks in my endorsements and a mix-and-match method with the rest of the pool in bulk-entry scenarios.

QUARTERBACK

Sam Ehlinger, Texas (DK $8,800, FD $12,000) vs. Colorado

Ehlinger's had some ups-and-downs this season, but he edges out D'Eriq King (DK $8,200, FD $10,800) as the top quarterback to target on this slate.  He's completed over 60 percent of his passes and sports a nifty 25:5 TD.INT ratio. I also favor Ehlinger because King will face a much stiffer defense. I'm going to use the Miami QB in some S-FLEX spots, but Ehlinger has an exemplary defense that should hold off Colorado and keep him on the field for more snaps than any other signal-caller available.

Sam Noyer, Colorado (DK $6,500, FD $9,000) vs. Texas

The Buffaloes have only played five games due to the truncated Pac-12 schedule, which could be either a plus or minus, depending on your perspective.  One thing is for sure - going for Noyer over or alongside King and Ehlinger gives your lineup a unique look because his popularity percentage will fall well below the two elites.  Noyer was on pace to throw for over 2,000 yards and 14 touchdowns if he had played a full schedule, but he averaged one pick per game in the abbreviated season as well. Their record is a bit of a mixed bag, with losses to Utah and Stanford, but a win over underrated UCLA. It's tough to gauge Pac-12 teams based on the meager metrics available, but Texas will force Noyer to move the ball through the air since they'll likely be behind for most of the game. He has enough talent around him, and they stand a chance if their defense can hold off the Longhorns' offense.

RUNNING BACK

The backs are tricky today, and in a few cases, I've mentioned alternate selections with each back. I would consider picking at least one of the lower-priced candidates over the principal endorsement to manage your salary cap.

Jarek Broussard, Colorado (DK $7,200, FD $9,600) vs. Texas

He tops the chart for running backs, so he merits a mention, but I don't think he's indispensable. As we've said, we lack sample size for Pac-12 players, and I'm not 100 percent sure why Broussard is rated so high. I'm sure his 301-yard effort against Arizona is one of the reasons, but the Longhorns are not the Wildcats. With only four teams to choose from, Broussard's upside is something you have to consider, but there's variance associated with this pick.

Dominic Richardson, Oklahoma State (DK $6,000, FD $6,000) vs. Miami (FL)

Again, some variance with this pick as well.  Richardson exploded for 169 yards and three touchdowns against Baylor, neutralizing incumbent back Dezmon Jackson (DK $4,000, FD $9,100). There's a lot of shuffling around in the wake of Chuba Hubbard's departure, and the two sites have very differing opinions about who will benefit in this bowl game.  DraftKings isn't high on Jackson, but FanDuel thinks he's worth $9,100. For DraftKings users, I don't think you can get past Jackson's value, and history indicates that the Cowboys have trusted him in the past. Richardson is a mostly untested freshman, but he was very impressive against the Bears. MME players will have no problem switching these guys around across multiple lineups, but single-entry enthusiasts will have a tough call.

Bijan Robinson, Texas (DK $6,300, FD $9,100) vs. Colorado

Robinson presents an avenue to get away from the Oklahoma State question marks, and he's arguably the most reliable back in the pool. Roschon Johnson (DK $4,700, FD $7,500) will steal some carries, but Robinson emerged to be the primary back after a sluggish beginning of the season. Johnson has more touchdowns, but Robinson has more yards and carries. Both backs have value today.

WIDE RECEIVER

Tylan Wallace, Oklahoma State (DK $6,700, FD $9,500) vs. Miami (FL)

Good news for the Cowboys. Wallace was unlikely to play in the bowl game due to a knee injury, but Wallace told reporters that he's good to go. It's doubtful that he'd suit up if he wasn't 100 percent because the looming NFL combine is definitely on Wallace's radar. The wide receiver pool is the spot for value, and Wallace is very inexpensive for a chart-topper.

Brevin Jordan, Miami (FL) (DK $5,900, FD $8,100) vs. Oklahoma State

Jordan is one of the best tight ends in the country, and he can find the seams better than most receivers. D'eriq King loves the play-action, and when the offense shows a run, Jordan is notorious for making contact and then sprinting out into the open and becomes a prime target down the middle. The Cowboys will have to commit to the center of the field to contain him, and they'll already have enough problems shutting down the edges to keep King in check.

Jake Smith, Texas (DK $4,500, FD $7,000) vs. Colorado

Joshua Moore seems to have fallen out of favor in Austin, and Smith has gone in the opposite direction, leading Texas receivers on multiple occasions. He hasn't scored in two weeks, so he's definitely due. Redshirt freshman Jordan Whittington's (DK $4,900 FD $6,400) contribution has spiked recently as well, and he should see action as the #3 wideout.

Also consider: Mike Harley, Miami (FL) (DK $6,100, FD $8,500) vs. Oklahoma State
