College Basketball is back in full swing today as we have three matchups between top-25 teams, highlighted by a showdown in Alabama as undefeated LSU travels to take on Auburn. It's part of a 10-game DraftKings slate that features their $10 Big Jam Contest with $2,000 to first, while FanDuel's main contest is the $7.77 All-American with a $500 top prize.
Top Players
Jabari Smith, F, Auburn ($8,600 DK, $8,400 FD)
Smith was a top-10 recruit in the freshman class and is living up to the billing as not only one of the best newcomers in college basketball but one of the best players in the country. At 6-10, he's flashed a tremendous all-around game with three double-doubles while also draining 2.3 threes per game at a 45-percent clip. As good as the Tigers have been defensively, slowing down Smith will be no easy task in one of the biggest games of his young career.
Darius Days, F, LSU ($7,400 DK, $8,000 FD)
Days ranks in the top-10 tonight in fantasy points per minute (1.09) but comes in with a salary outside of the top-25, creating value if he sees enough minutes, which should be the case in a game with a small spread against Auburn. He's been a stat stuffer with three double-doubles on the season and three steals in each of the last two games. With Auburn preferring to play an up-tempo style, this should turn into a high possession game.
Middle Tier
Tyler Wahl, G/F, Wisconsin ($6,100 DK)
While Johnny Davis and Brad Davison lead the way for the Badgers, Wahl has posted a pair of 30+ point fantasy games over his last six games and should be able to take advantage of a weak Illinois State team that ranks a lowly 273rd in KenPom's defensive efficiency metric. He's been quite effective on the defensive end, leading the team in blocks while recording a steal in each of the last three games.
Warren Washington, F, Nevada ($5,100 DK, $6,600 FD)
At first glance, Washington may look like a fade against the 9-1 Jayhawks, but the 7-footer has been near matchup-proof thus far. He's posted at least eight rebounds in over half his games, and Kansas shouldn't put up too much resistance in that area with a small lineup that only includes one rotation player over 6-8. Washington is shooting 59 percent from the field and has done a good job of drawing fouls and converting at the line as well.
Values
Editor's Note: Sorry we're missing the Brown free square tonight, but Wednesday's matchup between Washington and Washington State has been postponed due to COVID-19 in the WSU program.
Terrell Brown, G, Washington ($5,000 DK)
Brown is a risky fade for even the most contrarian fantasy managers, as he ranks sixth in fantasy ppg among those on tonight's slate but comes in with a below average salary. The Arizona transfer is having a standout season with his new team, having reached double figures in every game thus far with 20+ points in over half his games. His floor is also incredibly safe with his worst game being 21 fantasy points through 10 games.
Jordan Jones, G, Cornell ($4,300 DK)
Jones has been the clear workhorse for the Big Red this season, ranking second in shot percentage on tonight's slate, accounting for 32.6 percent of the team's shots when he's on the court. Even with the high usage he's been efficient, connecting on 45 percent of his field goals while making two threes per game. A potential under-the-radar game to stack with it having the highest over/under despite the high 15-point spread.
