Rockets overcome Cavaliers, 117-103, on Saturday
The Houston Rockets took down the Cleveland Cavaliers, 117-103, at the Toyota Center on Saturday.

It was a back-and-forth affair for much of the first quarter, but the home team Rockets (32-35) won the second frame, 36-25, to take a 16-point lead into halftime. Things didn’t get easier for the Cavaliers (42-25), as they struggled to shoot the ball and found themselves down by 25 points after three quarters. Cleveland weren’t able to mount a comeback down the stretch, and both teams opted to empty their benches midway through the fourth quarter. The Rockets improved to 23-11 at home, while the Cavaliers dropped to 20-12 on the road.

Caris LeVert led the way for the Cavaliers off the bench with 21 points, three rebounds, seven assists and three steals. Georges Niang chipped in 14 points, five rebounds and two assists, while Donovan Mitchell added 13 points, three rebounds and two assists. Sam Merrill contributed 11 points, eight rebounds and two assists in reserve. Jarrett Allen tallied 10 points, seven rebounds and three rebounds.

Jalen Green led the Rockets with 26 points, 11 rebounds, four assists and two blocks for his fifth double-double of the season. Jabari Smith had 20 points, seven rebounds, two assists and three blocks. Amen Thompson finished with 18 points and eight rebounds, while Dillon Brooks had 12 points, three rebounds, two assists and two steals. Fred VanVleet notched his 19th double-double of the season with 13 points, five rebounds and 16 assists.

Next up, the Cavaliers wrap up their three-game road trip March 18 against the Indiana Pacers, while the Rockets visit the Washington Wizards on March 19.
