Hawks Defeat Wizards, 130-121
The Atlanta Hawks defeated the visiting Washington Wizards, 130-121, at State Farm Arena on Wednesday.

While there were seven ties and four lead changes in the first half, Atlanta never relinquished the lead in the second half. A 34-21 second quarter started that blowout, with the Hawks finishing things off with a 40-31 third quarter. They held a double-digit lead for the closing 20 minutes until the final meaningless shot, getting their lead up to 26 points at times. The Hawks shot 29-of-32 from the free-throw line, while the Wizards hit just 9-of-14. In addition, Atlanta outrebounded Washington, 62-42, while outscoring them in second-chance points, 19-5.

The Wizards (1-3) were led by Kyle Kuzma, collecting 25 points, nine rebounds and six assists. Deni Avdija amassed 22 points, five rebounds and three assists. Jordan Poole scored 13 points. Delon Wright provided three points, three rebounds, nine assists and two steals off the bench.

The Hawks (3-2) were led by Dejounte Murray, tallying 24 points, four rebounds and eight assists on 10-of-15 shooting. Trae Young totaled 23 points, three rebounds, 10 assists and two steals. De'Andre Hunter had 23 points, seven rebounds, three assists and two steals, while Clint Capela amassed 10 points and 11 boards. Onyeka Okongwu led the bench with 16 points, 11 rebounds and two assists.

On deck for Washington is a road matchup with the Miami Heat on Friday. As for Atlanta, they return to action on Saturday in a road matchup with the New Orleans Pelicans.
