There are only seven games on the NBA slate Tuesday, but there are a lot of lackluster teams in action as the Atlanta Hawks, Phoenix Suns and Sacramento Kings will all play. There is still value to be had on bad teams for your FanDuel entry, so let's take a look at some players that you should consider.
Guards
Bradley Beal, WAS at BKN ($8,600): Beal has cranked up his offense, scoring at least 25 points in three straight games. By playing at least 37 minutes in all three of those games, he has had plenty of opportunities to contribute as his 29.6% usage rate ranks him 16th-best in the league. The Nets play at the third fastest pace (104.4) in the league, giving Beal a chance to be a big factor again Tuesday.
Buddy Hield, SAC vs. PHO ($5,500): By scoring at least 17 points in four straight games, Hield has been a key contributor off the bench for the Kings. One of the main reasons for his success is he played at least 26 minutes in all four of those games, something he had done only once in his previous seven games. He can provide value with added minutes as his 24.7% usage rate puts him inside the top-50 in the league. The Suns allow the most points per game (115) in the league, so Hield could keep his offensive hot streak going for at least one more game.
J.J. Barea, DAL vs. SA ($5,400):Dennis Smith Jr. (hip) will not play again Tuesday, marking the third straight game he will miss. His performance hasn't been great, but Barea did score at least 22.2 FanDuel points in both of the previous two games that Smith missed. Barea's 26.4% usage rate ranks him inside the top-35 in the league, so he can be productive when given more minutes. He won't cost you a ton and he has upside, making him someone to consider for your entry.
Forwards
Ben Simmons, PHI at MIN ($10,000): Simmons continues to be a reliable option, scoring at least 46 FanDuel points in three of his last four games. The Sixers may be shorthanded Tuesday as both Joel Embiid (back) and Robert Covington (back) are listed as questionable. If either of them can't play, Simmons would be counted on to score even more than usual. If they do play, Simmons still has the ability to contribute across multiple categories, giving him tremendous potential.
Brandon Ingram, LAL at NY ($7,100): Ingram has really improved his offensive game this season and has now scored at least 18 points in five straight games. On a team trying to develop young talent, Ingram is getting a lot of playing time as he played at least 35 minutes in four of those five contests. The Lakers play at the fastest pace (105.1) in the league, so look for Ingram to be productive against a struggling Knicks squad Tuesday.
Ersan Ilyasova, ATL at CLE ($5,900): Ilyasova is dialed in from behind the arc, hitting 10 three-pointers over his last two games. John Collins (shoulder) might return for the Hawks on Tuesday, but Ilyasova should still play significant minutes with Dewayne Dedmon (leg) and Mike Muscala (ankle) out again. Ilyasova scored 39.6 FanDuel points in his last meeting against the Cavaliers, making him someone you should consider again for Tuesday's matchup.
Centers
Andre Drummond, DET vs. DEN ($9,200): Drummond is in a bit of an offensive funk having only scored a total of 14 points over his last two games. He still managed to salvage those games by grabbing at least 15 rebounds in both contests. He's averaging a career-high 15.3 rebounds per game this season, so he provides a high floor on nights even when he has trouble contributing with points. With Nikola Jokic (ankle) out Tuesday, Drummond could be in for a night against Kenneth Faried and Mason Plumlee.
Mason Plumlee, DEN at DET ($5,200): Plumlee has seen increased playing time with Jokic out, even though he is splitting Jokic's minutes with Faried. While he hasn't put up any huge performances, Plumlee has scored at least 20.4 FanDuel points in four of his last six games. He'll be needed to battle with Drummond, so he is worth considering based on his reasonable price.
Brook Lopez, LAL at NY ($4,400): Lopez is only seeing limited playing time with the Lakers, playing 19 minutes or less in six of the last seven games. He's managed to overcome those limitations lately, scoring at least 22 FanDuel points in three of his last four games. The Knicks have a big front court, so there is a chance Lopez might see a few extra minutes in this game. If you want to take a chance on a cheap center in tournament play, Lopez is a viable option.
