FanDuel NBA: Friday Value Plays

FanDuel NBA: Friday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NBA series.

Yogi Ferrell, DAL vs BRO ($5,200) – Ferrell has been a bit up-and-down, with the down part usually coming when he gets in foul trouble. However, this is arguably the best matchup possible with the Nets giving up the most fantasy points to opposing point guards. Ferrell has reached 4X in five of his last six games, showing a solid floor, and has consistently been playing around 30 minutes per night.

Evan Fournier, ORL at CHA ($5,600) – Fun fact: Fournier has logged at least 34 minutes in each of his last nine games, scoring 20.5 fantasy points or more in eight of those. He's been very reliable since returning from injury and gets Nicolas Batum, who is banged up a bit, Friday. While it's usually a bad idea to take scoring-dependent players, he has scored at least 18 real points in four of his last five contests.

Seth Curry, DAL vs BRO ($6,200) – Curry has been shooting much better than his brother, and at around this price, has been just as good a value as Steph. Curry has established a solid floor, too, scoring at least 22.6 fantasy points in 11 straight games while surpassing 31.7 (over 5X) in five of those. Brooklyn has given up the most fantasy points to opposing shooting guards over its 10 games, and it's totally reasonable to use both Ferrell and Curry together, even in a potential blowout.

Juancho Hernangomez DEN vs BOS ($3,600) – This pick is completely dependent on the availability of the other Nuggets players — particularly Danilo Gallinari. If Gallinari is ruled out again due to an illness, Hernangomez is an excellent punt-play at $100 over the minimum. He scored 23.9 fantasy points in a starting role Wednesday night in place of Gallinari, and is only in play if he sees that same role tonight.

Terrence Ross, ORL at CHA ($4,500) – Games of 19.1 and 12.3 fantasy points over his last two have kept his price down and hopefully will do the same to Friday's ownership levels. Ross has hit 6.5X in three of his last seven games and had another 5.6X outing mixed in there. Over the last 10, the Hornets have given up the seventh most fantasy points to opposing small forwards, making this a plus matchup for Ross.

Trevor Ariza, HOU at CHI ($4,900) – Ariza is hitting rock bottom as far as prices go, and now is the time to take advantage. He continues to log heavy minutes, playing at least 32 in five of the last six, and has had some tough matchup as of late — including Utah, Memphis, San Antonio and the Clippers. Jimmy Butler won't be a picnic Friday, but his presence on the court means Ariza should again see big minutes.

Justin Hamilton, BRO at DAL ($3,500) – Hamilton is a great punt at the minimum price given he should start in place of the injured Brook Lopez. He should have a favorable matchup against the Mavericks given his size and that they're in the bottom half of the league in terms of allowing fantasy points to centers over the last 10 games. Even if this game turns out to be a blowout, Hamilton will have safe minutes with Lopez sitting this out. One of his counterparts, Nerlens Noel ($6,200), is in play as well.

Mason Plumlee DEN vs BOS ($5,600) – Boston has to be a little road-weary at this point, and on the season they've given up the 11th most fantasy points to opposing centers. It's sounding like Nikola Jokic is going to sit this one out, again putting Plumlee in the starting role. Over the last two games without Jokic, Plumlee has scored 29.9 and 36.5 fantasy points, which translates into 5.3x and 6.5x value.
