Cubs vs. Atlanta: Shota Imanaga to record over 4.5 strikeouts, -130 @ bet365
Imanaga only recorded two strikeouts in his last start, a six-inning solid outing against Atlanta in which he got the win while allowing three runs on five hits (including two homers) and a walk across six frames. However, that snapped a run of six straight starts with at least five strikeouts for the lefty. Even though Atlanta seemed to have Imanaga's number the last time out (at least from a contact perspective), the hurler has recorded five or more K's in nearly half of his starts in 2025 (10 of 21). Having pitched against Atlanta just last week,Imanaga could be in line to deliver a solid performance and carry the Cubs to a much-needed victory after dropping two of three against the Nationals this past weekend. Imanaga owns a 44:6 K:BB and an 8.3 K/9 across 48 innings (eight outings) since the All-Star break.

Reds vs. Padres: Nick Lodolo to record over 4.5 strikeouts, +110 @ bet365
The line of over 4.5 strikeouts seems quite low for Lodolo in this game. Even though the Reds are underdogs on the road against the Padres, it's worth noting that Lodolo has fanned six or more in four of his last five starts. That includes a six-strikeout performance in only 4.2 innings against another NL West powerhouse, the Dodgers. With a 3.22 ERA and 130 strikeouts in 134.1 innings this season, the line seems a bit low on the left-hander. Even if the Padres rank dead last in the NL in strikeouts as a team, with 7.09 per game, Lodolo's 10.7 K/9 since the All-Star break should be enough reason to back him up in this contest.

Nationals vs. Marlins: Janson Junk under 16.5 outs recorded, -125 @ bet365
The Nationals should be full of confidence for this contest against Miami following their series win over the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field this past weekend. That included a ninth-inning comeback win Sunday. Plus, let's not forget that Junk is coming off the injured list to start for Miami after missing time due to nerve irritation in his throwing elbow. The line of 16.5 outs means Junk would have to pitch at least 5.2 innings to hit that mark, and that seems to be a lot for someone who last pitched in the majors on Aug. 23. As if that wasn't enough, Junk has not pitched past the fifth inning in five of his previous seven outings. Junk has allowed a .296 average to lefties, and given that the Nats' lineup should feature several left-handed bats, it wouldn't be surprising to see Junk depart the game earlier than expected.
