PITCHER
Blake Snell, TB at NYY ($9,200): Snell is in the middle of having a breakout season with a 2.30 ERA, WHIP less than 1.00 and more than a strikeout per inning. While the Yankees are a daunting task at home, Snell has at least 28 fantasy points in 11 of his last 12 starts. New York strikes out at the 13th-highest rate against left-handed pitching (24.0 percent) and Snell has improved drastically since their April 4 meeting.
GPP Fade: David Price, BOS at SEA ($8,400): The Mariners are too good on paper against left-handed hitting to completely trust Price. While Price has been really good as lately (40 or more fantasy points in four of his last five), Seattle has the sixth-highest wOBA (.335) against left-handed pitching in the league. Throw in the M's only strike out 19.9 percent of the time (seventh lowest in the league) and this doesn't seem like a good matchup for Price.
Cheap GPP Consideration: Brandon McCarthy, ATL vs SD ($6,400): McCarthy has been up and down this season and his last eight games illustrate that point. During that span of games he's scored -8, 6, 7 and 14 fantasy points and … 35, 37, 37 and 43 fantasy points, as well. The Padres continue to be a good matchup with a .287 wOBA against right-handed pitching (second lowest in the league) and strikeout 25.8 percent of the time (third highest in the league).
CATCHER/FIRST BASE
Paul Goldschmidt, ARI vs NYM ($4,500): Goldy should be a staple in all cash games regardless of who the starting pitcher is in any lineup. He's at home facing a lefty where he has a career .454 wOBA. With the small four-game slate he's easily the top bat on the board.
SECOND BASE
Asdrubal Cabrera, NYM at ARI ($2,900): Cabrera is having too good of a season to see his price drop lower than $3,000, especially on a short slate with limited options. He's averaging 9.9 fantasy points per game (third-highest average at the position Thursday) but is at least $800 cheaper than the two options ahead of him. Cabrera's best splits this season are on the road against right-handed pitching where he has a .389 wOBA.
THIRD BASE
Johan Camargo, ATL vs SD ($2,600): A switch hitter, Camargo has been markedly better as a lefty this season with a .362 wOBA. That's the matchup Thursday as the Braves take on Tyson Ross, who has allowed a .361 wOBA this season to left-handed hitters. Remember that when considering that Freddie Freeman guy.
SHORTSTOP
Nick Ahmed, ARI vs NYM ($2,800): Ahmed has been worth DFS consideration all season averaging 8.4 fantasy points per game from a very thin position. He's also been outstanding against left-handed pitching since the start of the 2017 with a .450 wOBA last season and a .382 wOBA this season. Steven Matz gave up a .370 wOBA last season and has surrendered a .336 wOBA to right-handed hitters this season.
OUTFIELD
Mallex Smith, TB at NYY ($2,500): Smith has heated up recently at the plate with a 1.078 OPS in his last seven games, including a .500 OBP. He's never going to be a power hitter, but his speed makes him a fantasy player with decent upside. Smith's .328 wOBA against righties is solid yet unspectacular, and he's scored at least 9.2 fantasy points in six of his last seven games.
Aaron Hicks, NYY vs TB ($3,300): If Snell isn't going to be used (especially in a GPP) then it makes sense to continue to be contrarian and get some Yankees into a lineup. Hicks isn't over-priced like Giancarlo Stanton or Aaron Judge and had a wOBA of .383 last season against left-handed pitching. This season's mark is still solid at .355 and Snell's worst splits this season are on the road against right-handed hitting.
UTILITY
Mitch Moreland, BOS at SEA ($3,900): With all the success that the Red Sox lineup has had it seems like Moreland's season has gone a little under the radar. He's on pace for career highs in a few categories and his matchup with Felix Hernandez is actually a good one. Hernandez allows a .351 wOBA to left-handed hitters while Moreland has a .415 wOBA against right-handed pitching.
