2025 Fantasy Outlook
The Hornets added one of the best shooters in the 2025 NBA Draft by selecting Knueppel with the No. 4 overall pick. The Duke product figures to be a starter on Opening Night, alongside LaMelo Ball and Brandon Miller in the backcourt. With Knueppel and Miller as elite three-point threats, Ball should have a ton of open space to make plays. Knueppel averaged 14.4 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.0 steals in 30.5 minutes per game during his lone season with the Blue Devils in 2024-25, proving he's more than just a floor spacer. However, his shooting ability is his most NBA-ready trait (48/41/91 shooting splits in college), so that's the role he'll likely have to fill early in his career while he develops the other parts of his game. Knueppel won't have the ball in his hands a ton, with Ball, Miller and Miles Bridges expected to lead the team in usage, but the rookie should be locked into consistent minutes as long as he holds up defensively. Backup guards Collin Sexton, Spencer Dinwiddie and Tre Mann could eat into Knueppel's playing time if he struggles, but Charlotte will presumably prioritize the youngster's development unless they make a surprising playoff push. Does damage from deep in loss
Knueppel posted 19 points (7-15 FG, 5-11 3Pt), three rebounds, four assists and one steal in 27 minutes during Tuesday's 144-117 loss to the Heat.
ANALYSIS
Knueppel was dangerous from beyond the arc yet again Tuesday, where he tallied 15 of his 19 points. He's hit three or more triples in each of his first four NBA appearances, averaging 16.0 points along the way. Knueppel should continue to see plenty of opportunities while Brandon Miller recovers from a shoulder injury.

Continues to impress Lee
Hornets coach Charles Lee talked about how impressed he's been by Knueppel on Wednesday, according to Hornets Reddit.
ANALYSIS
"Offensively, you see all the things he can do in terms of being a great catch-and-shoot threat," Lee said. "He's actually a really good screener too, and he's an unselfish player. He continues to make the right decisions when he gets in the paint. He's made a couple of really good passes, and his offensive rebounding out of the corners has gotten a couple of big ones for us that really boost our spirit." Knueppel has started two of Charlotte's four exhibitions, posting averages of 11.8 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.3 three-pointers in 23.8 minutes. Given his draft position and elite floor spacing, Knueppel remains the favorite among Collin Sexton and Tre Mann to start Opening Night.
