DraftKings' Arena Football League (AFL) contests are back in Week 12 with a two-game slate. RotoWire will be providing lineup suggestions for each of the 13 weeks of the AFL regular season, the two weeks of the playoffs and the ArenaBowl.
DraftKings AFL lineups consist of one Captain spot, which sees the player's salary and fantasy points both multiply at a rate of 1.5x, and five Flex positions. The lack of positional specifications means that one could potentially compose a lineup consisting of players from just one position. However, for our purposes, we'll strive to highlight players from at least the top two fantasy-producing positions, quarterback and wide receiver.
Note: Please keep in mind that these are merely recommendations on certain players and are not intended to constitute a lineup that fits under DraftKings' $50,000 salary cap. In fact, the cumulative salary of the players suggested weekly will often check in well over that figure.

Week 12 AFL Plays
Captain: Tommy Grady, QB, ALB at CLB ($15,300):
With just two games on the slate, it's critical to get the Captain's spot right. In my view, that very likely equates to having Grady in that slotting against a Destroyers defense that's been ripe for the picking for the majority of the season. Columbus checks in with the second-highest pass defense efficiency rating allowed (117.3), along with a 65.0

Columbus checks in with the second-highest pass defense efficiency rating allowed (117.3), along with a 65.0 percent completion rate and 45 touchdown passes overall. Grady compiled seven touchdown passes and 42.8 fantasy points the last time he saw the Destroyers in Week 4, and he now has a whopping 59 touchdown passes in 10 games. Additionally, Grady has been even better on the road (35.9 fantasy points average over five contests), putting together a 30:5 TD:INT. Given his upside and just four quarterbacks in action, I see Grady as the top Captain's spot candidate.
Flex: Malachi Jones, WR, ALB at CLB ($10,800):
Having just highlighted Grady's appeal, it's time to hone in on his favorite target, irrespective of his five-figure price. Jones doesn't come cheap for a very good reason, which can be divined from examining his game log. The explosive wideout racked up 35.4 and 49.1 fantasy points in Weeks 9 and 10, respectively, and he has over 100 yards receiving in all but two contests overall. He also has multiple scores in eight of 10 games as well and is averaging 41.6 fantasy points on the strength of 144.0 receiving yards per five away contests. The Destroyers' various vulnerabilities to the pass were just highlighted in Grady's entry, and given Jones' massive role, he makes for an excellent pairing with the quarterback if you can afford both.
Flex: Arvell Nelson, QB, WAS at BAL ($10,600):
Nelson is a near must-play on the short slate, despite a tough matchup on paper against a Brigade defense that's made strides since he racked up eight passing touchdowns against them in the season opener. Nelson was limited to just one score through the air in a Week 9 rematch, but Nelson made up for the downturn with four rushing TDs. He gets a third crack at Baltimore on the road, where he's averaged 266.8 passing yards over five contests. Nelson has 29 total touchdowns away from home as well, and he's scored under 30.0 fantasy points only once in 10 games. The Brigade has really tightened up against the pass, but they've allowed 11 rushing touchdowns and are tied with the Blackjacks for most rushing yards per game allowed, certainly relevant when considering the highly mobile Nelson.
Flex: Fabian Guerra, WR, CLB vs. ALB ($9,800):
Guerra's production has fluctuated somewhat due to the overall shaky state of the Destroyers and occasional inconsistent play from Grant Russell under center. However, Guerra has unquestioned upside, and he's an intriguing tournament play against an Empire defense he already eviscerated for 72.4 fantasy points back in Week 3 on the strength of a 13-202-4 line. The Empire has been an absolute sieve through the air for most of the season, and they'll check into Saturday's contest allowing the most yards per game (263.5), most passing yards per contest (255.7), third-most completions (215) and third-most touchdown passes (50). Guerra is averaging an impressive 35.2 fantasy points across five home games and has a chance to pay off big once again in a contest that could turn into a shootout.
Flex: Shane Boyd, QB, BAL vs. WAS ($7,800):
Boyd has been dealing with an undisclosed injury, but he should be ready to take the turf Saturday night. The veteran quarterback will draw a solid matchup against a Valor defense that has sprung its fair share of leaks through the air this season. Washington has allowed the second-most passing yards per game (242.6) and touchdown passes (51), along with the second-highest completion percentage (65.3). Boyd posted a solid 22.96 fantasy points versus the Valor in his most recent meeting against them in Week 9, and he'd compiled an even more impressive 33.48 versus Washington back in Week 1. Baltimore will likely have to remain aggressive to keep up with Arvell Nelson and the Valor, which should allow Boyd to offer a solid return on his mid-tier price.
Flex: Brandon Collins, WR, BAL vs. WAS ($7,400):
Speaking of the Baltimore passing game, Collins makes for an appealing, reasonably priced handcuff with the Brigade's quarterback. The veteran receiver has no fewer than five receptions in seven straight contests, and he even notched his first career rushing score during his last game in Week 10. Collins also just totaled 18.4 fantasy points on the strength of a 5-72-1 line against the Valor in Week 9. In addition to the defensive weaknesses already cited in Boyd's entry, Washington is also allowing the highest average yards per attempt (8.0), certainly another point in Collins' favor at a solid price.
