Welbeck (ankle) was seen participating in team training Tuesday, according to his club.

Welbeck (ankle) will be evaluated on a week-to-week basis, with no definitive timeline for his return. Fabian Hurzeler stated, "I can't say a clear schedule for when he will be back. It can be next week, it can be real quick. But it can take two, three, or four more weeks. He is without any pain, so that's a really good thing. And he is back on the pitch. But we have to go day by day and hopefully he can be back soon."

Welbeck (ankle) is doubtful for the remainder of 2024, coach Fabian Hurzeler announced. "He played with painkillers at Leicester," Hurzeler explained. "We thought he would be ready for that game. He also felt ready. You have to find the right solution for the club and for the player. You can't push him through this period with painkillers all the time. It's our responsibility to take care of the health of the player. That is why we had another scan. We tried to listen to other experts on ankle injuries and now we will try to find the right solution for Danny. He is very doubtful for the games in the rest of this year."

Welbeck (ankle) is questionable for Saturday's match against West Ham, according to manager Fabian Hurzeler. "Danny is not in the best shape and we'll have to see from week to week. It's an issue that can heal fast or also heal slow."
