Dream11 Fantasy Soccer: Liverpool v. Aston Villa Preview

This article is part of our Dream11 Fantasy Soccer series.

Game Preview

Liverpool might not be as motivated as they were weeks ago since they have already wrapped up the Premier League title, but it would be wrong to think they have nothing to play for – as things stand now, the Reds can still clinch five all-time EPL records before the end of the 2019-20 season: most points, most wins, most home wins, most away wins and biggest points margin. With that in mind, and considering they want to keep their 100-percent record at home alive, Liverpool should come out guns a'blazing Sunday against Aston Villa. The Villains have their backs against the wall in the relegation threat, but it's clear this is not their best chance to come away with points outside their home venue. To make things worse, Villa currently own the league's worst defense, conceding 2.06 goals on average per match.

Recent Form

Liverpool: W2, D1, L2

Aston Villa: D2, L3

Team News

Liverpool

OUT: Nathaniel Clyne (knee), Xherdan Shaqiri (calf), Joel Matip (foot)

Doubtful: Dejan Lovren (undisclosed)

Aston Villa

OUT: Bjorn Engels (Achilles), Jed Steer (Achilles), Matt Targett (hamstring), Tom Heaton (knee), Wesley Moraes (knee)

Doubtful: Frederic Guilbert (knee)

Expected Lineups

Liverpool: Alisson Becker; Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joe Gomez, Virgil van Dijk; Andrew Robertson; Fabinho, Jordan Henderson, Georginio Wijnaldum; Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah

Aston Villa: Orjan Nyland; Kortney Hause, Ezri Konsa, Tyrone Mings, Neil Taylor; Conor Hourihane, Marvelous

Top Picks

Mohamed Salah, Liverpool: Mohamed Salah has scored 15 of his 17 Premier League goals this season at home, and he is expected to increase that tally against the worst defense in the competition. Salah should have added motivation to score at least twice here, since he is inching closer to Jamie Vardy in the race to become the league's top scorer.

Roberto Firmino, Liverpool: Firmino must be one of the most undervalued strikers in the world, and he constantly gets less than the recognition he deserves; then again, that comes with the territory of playing alongside two superstars such as Salah and Sadio Mane. The 28-year-old Brazilian striker only has one goal in his last 10 starts in all competitions, but he is due to end that drought against Villa's lowly defensive line.
