Booked against Blackshear
Gibson will fight Da'Mon Blackshear at UFC Vegas 104 on March 15, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Gibson was able to easily handle Chad Anheliger in November to earn his second consecutive win and finish 2024 2-1, which will give him a momentum advantage over Blackshear, who has lost two of his last three bouts.

Rolls through Chad Anheliger
Gibson defeated Chad Anheliger via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-26) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Edmonton.
ANALYSIS
Gibson was upwards of a -400 favorite by the time the fight went off. A number along the lines of -4000 would have been more fair. Cody dominated from start to finish on the strength of his grappling game. He was credited with just 16 significant strikes landed, but 5-of-6 successful takedown attempts for 12:25 worth of control time ensured a clean sweep on the scorecards. The level of competition Gibson was facing has to be taken into consideration, but it was a brilliant performance nonetheless. Gibson, now 37 years old, has picked up back-to-back wins on the heels of two straight defeats.

Next opponent scheduled
Gibson will face Chad Anheliger in a bantamweight matchup at UFC Edmonton on November 2, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Gibson found his first victory against Brian Kelleher after defeating him via submission at UFC Fight Night in Las Vegas. This marked his second fight and the 37-year-old will look to build off this performance in an attempt to overcome Chad Anheliger, who is also coming off a victory.

Rolls through Brian Kelleher
Gibson defeated Brian Kelleher via submission (arm-triangle choke) at 3:58 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Gibson has his first victory in his second stint with the company and did so in emphatic fashion. Facing an opponent in Kelleher who appears to be completely finished, Cody pushed the paced from the very start, and Kelleher crumbled. Gibson dragged his opponent to the mat on two occasions for beautifully transitioning to the arm-triangle which closed the show. Gibson will be 37 years old in September and has struggled in the UFC, but he has some physical gifts and is capable of a strong performance like this once in a while.

Struggles continue in Vegas
Gibson lost to Miles Johns via unanimous decision (27-30, 27-30, 27-30) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Originally scheduled to face Davey Grant here, Gibson agreed to this opponent change about two weeks ago. He probably wishes he hadn't. Cody was unable to get anything going offensively throughout the course of the bout. While he was by no means overwhelmed by Johns, a pair of takedowns and 6:29 worth of control time were more than enough to ensure Gibson wouldn't be leaving with the win. Cody's second UFC run hasn't gone much better than his first. He dropped The Ultimate Fighter finale to Brad Katona last August and was decisioned by Johns here. Gibson could be looking at being cut from the company for a second time.
