He will head into the fight coming off a pair of back-to-back decision victories over Felipe dos Santos and Mitch Raposo, respectively, after beginning his UFC career with a disqualification win over Igor Severino. The 25-year-old Brazilian will hope to use a slight height and reach advantage to overcome the experience of Barez. Lima will have to be weary of the stopping power of Barez, with the Spaniard boasting an impressive 7-0 record in KO/TKO finishes.

Struggling with the stand-up game of dos Santos early on, Lima went to his wrestling and completely changed the tide of the fight. He landed just one takedown in each of the final two frames, but each of those successful attempts resulted in north of four minutes worth of control time in each instance. That, combined with dos Santos badly gassing out, led to Lima picking up his third UFC victory in as many tries.
