NHL Monday Night Betting Picks and Parlay Strategies
Minnesota Wild
at New York Rangers
The Wild (2-3-1) make the fourth stop on a five-game road trip against the Rangers (3-3-1) at Madison Square Garden on Monday night at 7 p.m. ET on NHL Network.
Minnesota is coming off a 2-1 loss in overtime on Saturday. Things got off to a great start, as Vladimir Tarasenko picked up the first goal in the second period, and Jesper Wallstedt did a good job making 19 saves. However, in the extra session, Philadelphia's Noah Cates sent the home folks away happy with the game-winning tally.
After a 2-1-0 start, the Wild have managed an 0-2-1 record in the first three games of the trip, and Minnesota has been outscored 12-4 in the span. As far as totals go, the Over is 3-1-1 in the past five outings.
The Rangers picked up a much-needed 4-3 win as short 'dogs in Montreal, as Jonathan Quick was sharp in his second start. Being on the road hasn't been a problem for the Rangers, as it has 15 goals in four outings on the road, or 3.8 goals per game (GPG). At home, the Rangers have yet to score in three games, becoming the first team in NHL history to get shut out in their first three home contests of the season. The Under is 3-0 in three games at home, and 5-2 in seven games overall.
Igor Shesterkin is expected to start. He is 2-2-1 with a 1.00 goals-against average (GAA) and .962 save percentage with one shutout. He is expected to be opposed by Filip Gustavsson, who is 1-3-0 with a 3.56 GAA and .888 save percentage so far this season.
The goaltender situation is a huge advantage for New York. It isn't going to get shut out at home, and facing the leaky goaltender Gustavsson could be the elixir to cure New York's scoring ills. The Rangers swept the season series in 2024-25, although both games did go to overtime. Regulation has been unable to decide a winner in four of the past five meetings, too, so be prepared to sweat it out.
Let's go with the Rangers, and go with the Under.

Carolina Hurricanes
at Vegas Golden Knights
The Hurricanes (5-0-0) and Golden Knights (4-0-2) meet at T-Mobile Arena at 10 p.m. ET in the first real marquee matchup of the young season.
Carolina has scored at least four goals in each of its five games so far, averaging 4.6 GPG, while allowing 2.2 GPG. The Over holds a slight 3-2 edge in the first five outings.
Frederik Andersen (3-0-0, 2.27 GAA, .899 save percentage) is expected to make the start, while Adin Hill (1-0-2, 2.86 GAA, .882 save percentage) returned from a lower-body injury Saturday in a 6-1 win over the Calgary Flames. Since coughing up five goals in the opener, a wild 6-5 SOL against the Los Angeles Kings, he has allowed two or fewer goals in each of the past three outings.
Carolina has swept the regular-season series in each of the past two seasons, outscoring Vegas 8-4 in 2024-25, as the Over-Under split. The Over does have a slight 5-4-1 edge in the past 10 meetings since Jan. 31, 2020.
VGK has hit the Over at a 4-1-1 mark in six games this season, with the Golden Knights going for four or more goals on five occasions.
We'll lean Over on the total, and let's take the Golden Knights to hand the Hurricanes their first loss of the season.
