Tournament Preview

The European Tour returns to Centro Nacional de Golf for the first time since 2007, for Open de Espana. The exposed, links-style course is undulating and narrow. There are bunkers throughout and water on less than half of the holes on this shorter course. Current form will guide the picks with almost no course history to pull from. Expect locals and ball strikers to thrive.

DRAFTKINGS PICKS (with odds)

Jon Rahm - $12,200 (7/2)

World No. 4 should have no sign of a Masters hangover this week. He will be filled with homeland enthusiasm and put on a show in Madrid. His strong finish at Augusta demonstrated once again that he can never be counted out. He is the clear favorite this week and would expect him to be quite chalky.

Pablo Larrazabal - $10,100 (20/1)

Pablo has been trending nicely, he finished T4 his last start, at Hero Indian Open. Before that he was T4 at Qatar Masters. Larrazabal is ranked 28th on tour in greens in regulation and averages almost 300 yards off the tee. He has been runner-up in this tournament and T3 in the past, though be it on a different golf course. His Spanish pride should show up again this week.

Jorge Campillo - $8,500 (33/1)

Jorge is another Spaniard who seems primed to break through. He finished T27 his last start at WGC- Mexico, but prior to that he finished T4 in Oman and solo second at Maybank. Campillo is ranked 38th in driving distance, averaging 308 yards. He is also stellar with his irons, he is ranked 31st in greens in regulation. In addition, Jorge is ranked 11th in SG:Putting, a recipe for success.

Sam Horsfield - $7,800 (28/1)

The young man from Manchester has shown glimpses of what is to come. He's had a strong last two tournaments, finishing T14 at Arnold Palmer Invitational and solo second at Tshwane Open before that. Sam drives the ball 308 yards on average and is ranked 40th on tour in SG:Off the tee. He is hitting more than 71 percent GIR this season. Another reason to consider Horsfield is his low Draftkings price given his odds of winning.
