Tournament Preview

The European Tour is in Prague this week for the D+D REAL Czech Masters. This is the fourth edition of this tournament, all of which have been contested at Albatross Golf Course. It is a parkland course with some length and water on almost half. Course history — which shows trends of certain players consistently playing well here — and current form will be considered heavily this week.

Past Champions

2016 - Paul Peterson
2015 - Thomas Pieters
2014 - Jaime Donaldson

DraftKings Picks

Thomas Pieters $11,600 (7/1)

Pieters has dominated this tournament the last two years, winning in 2015 and finishing second last year. He is a bomber, averaging over 305 yards driving, which helps at Albatross. Also, although he comes in off back-to-back missed cuts, Pieters is a world-class golfer and I believe he'll bounce back this week. Look for him come Sunday.

Matthew Fitzpatrick $10,000 (16/1)

Fitzpatrick is another golfer that has finished strong at Albatross Golf Resort the last two years. He was fifth in 2016 and third in 2015, so he definitely feels comfortable here. His game has been up and down lately, but I see him turning it on this week given his comfort level with the course. Matthew is ranked 37th on tour in driving accuracy.

Aaron Rai $9,100 (28/1)

Rai's has been on fire lately. He's had four top-10's in his last five events, including a win on the challenge tour. Granted, most weren't European Tour events, but he did finish T10 at Made in Denmark last week. The young Englishman is ranked sixth on tour in greens in regulation and third in driving accuracy.

Stuart Manley $6,600 (150/1)

Looking further down the price list for options to squeeze in two top-tier golfers leads me to Manley. He definitely comes with some risk, but he's a quality golfer that's showing some nice trends in his game recently. He finished T19 last week at Made in Denmark and has had some success at Albatross. Manley has competed twice here, and his best finish was T23 in 2014. He's my value pick of the week.
