The Texans were questioned for trading up significantly in the draft to select Anderson third overall in 2023, but his production in his rookie season certainly suggests that deal will work out for the team. 2023 Fantasy Outlook
No player acquisition during the Texans' offseason created the level of buzz that Anderson did. After selecting quarterback C.J. Stroud with the second overall pick in April's draft, Houston boldly traded up from 12th to third to select Anderson. At Alabama, Anderson was the type of defensive end for whom opponents needed to scheme. The two-time SEC Defensive Player of the Year winner steps immediately into an edge rusher spot for Houston, which had issues getting to the quarterback and stopping the run in 2022. Anderson should help solve the first issue.
