Rest-of-Season Projections
2025 Fantasy Outlook
Anderson has established himself as one of the most impactful defensive lineman in the league after only two seasons and has been equally impactful in run and pass defense. That's illustrated by his production profile as measured by PFF, as he ranked 23rd among defensive ends in run stuffs and 20th in quarterback pressures. The primary downside to his production as a fantasy option is his opportunity. Anderson has averaged only 563 defensive snaps across his first two seasons. Other elites at the position, such as Maxx Crosby and even Myles Garrett, regularly top 750. If Anderson were ever to get that volume, he'd become one of the most valuable IDP options along the defensive line. However, Houston continues to boast strong depth at edge and pass rusher, so that step forward may not come in 2025. Read Past Outlooks

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2024
2023
The Texans were questioned for trading up significantly in the draft to select Anderson third overall in 2023, but his production in his rookie season certainly suggests that deal will work out for the team. Even after playing the final quarter of the campaign at less than full strength, he finished 22nd in the league with 59 quarterback pressures (per PFF) while also playing more than serviceably against the run. With another year to hone his craft and prepare for the rigors of the NFL schedule, we should expect Anderson to take another step forward from his award-winning rookie campaign.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Hoping to be career Texan
Anderson expressed a desire earlier this month to remain in Houston for his entire NFL career, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. "Most definitely, I want to be here the rest of my career honestly," Anderson said. "As long as I can be here, that's what I want, to be here."
ANALYSIS
The third overall pick in the 2023 Draft isn't eligible to sign a contract extension until after the 2025 campaign, but Anderson has had a very productive start to his career with the Texans, racking up 18.0 sacks in his first 29 regular-season games. With the market for star edge rushers exploding in recent years and likely to see further inflation as players like Aidan Hutchinson and Micah Parsons await new deals, Houston has plenty of incentive to get Anderson signed to an extension as soon as possible.
