Still working through knee issue

October 22, 2025
Autry (knee) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice.
ANALYSIS
Autry was activated from the reserve/PUP list and cleared to make his 2025 debut against the Seahawks on Monday, when he logged two solo tackles, including 1.0 sacks, and a blocked field-goal attempt in a 27-19 loss. Autry is still working through the knee injury that caused him to miss the first five games of the regular season, but he'll have two more chances to increase his practice participation and avoid an injury designation heading into Sunday's game against the 49ers.

The Texans lost 11 sacks when they traded Maliek Collins to San Francisco and let Sheldon Rankins depart for Cincinnati. To help make up for the loss of QB pressure, Houston signed Autry, a productive defensive end coming off a career-high 11.5 sacks for the Titans in 2023. The 34-year-old may not play exclusively at end, as Houston can roll with Will Anderson and Danielle Hunter on the edge. Autry may have to apply pressure on quarterbacks from the interior - where the Collins/Rankins duo played - but defensive tackle isn't typically a spot for 6-5 defensive linemen.
Autry has been an established pass-rushing force for several seasons, and the 2022 campaign was no exception. He led the Titans with eight sacks and eight tackles for loss, and he finished 10th in the league with 27 quarterback pressures. Entering his age-32 season, there could be some concern that he's entering the downswing of his career, though he's shown no signs of his production slowing. Autry should form a potent 1-2 punch with Jeffery Simmons to make opposing quarterback's lives difficult in 2023.
Autry's first season with the Titans was a success, as he was consistently making life difficult for opposing signal-callers. In addition to nine sacks, he also tallied 33 quarterback pressures. In the second year of a three-season contract, Autry will remain a key part of the Titans' defensive line and pass rush in 2022.
The Titans invested heavily in their pass rush this offseason, a unit that was among the worst in the league in 2020. Autry was a major part of that investment, as he inked a three-year, $21.5 million contract with the team after spending the last three seasons with the division-rival Indianapolis. He racked up 20 sacks in that span and should be locked into a major role for the Titans in 2021.
Justin Houston and offseason acquisition DeForest Buckner are two obvious starters along Indy's defensive line, but the other two spots remain somewhat up in the air. Autry is likely the favorite to start on the interior after totaling 32 tackles, 3.5 sacks and one forced fumble through 14 starts in 2019, but he can also shift to the edge if necessary.
Autry thrived in his first season with the Colts, picking up nine sacks in 12 games opposite fellow starting defensive tackle Margus Hunt. It'd be a surprise if Autry replicates those numbers with former Chiefs star Justin Houston now in the fold, but the 28-year-old will still be a valuable component of Indy's D-line rotation.
Entering his second season in the league, Autry will look to occupy the fifth and final defensive end spot on the Raiders front line.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Looking to return to Tennessee
DETennessee Titans
January 22, 2024
Autry is a free agent this offseason after recording a career-high 11.5 sacks in 2023, but he's hoping to re-sign with the Titans, Turron Davenport of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The 33-year-old defensive end has three other seasons on his resume with at least eight sacks. Autry could get a big contract despite his age given the league-wide need for pass-rush help, but he'd prefer to remain in Tennessee. "It's a good fit for me," he said in December. "I like it here." Autry previously signed a three-year, $21.5 million deal with the Titans in March of 2021.
