Opportunity knocks for Simpson following Patrick Queen's departure in free agency. A 2023 third-round draft pick, Simpson only played double-digit defensive snaps once as a rookie and that was in Week 18 when Baltimore rested its starters. He showed flashes in that game with seven tackles and a sack, but one game isn't an indicative sample.
